Hello Dolly,

Hi!  How are you?  Hope youre feeling fine.  We received you letters dated April 12, 15, 19 and 22, one after the other.  Have you received the Mothers Day card that we sent you?  I hope so.  Pasensiya ka na.  You might have received it late.  We were not able to mail it earlier.  Lina and I just watched the movie, Oh My Mama.  This was a special presentation for Mothers Day.  Maricel Soriano and William Martinez were the lead roles.

You mentioned in your letter that Jerry Lewis is very famous there.  He has a movie that is being shown here right now titled, Hardly Working.   Im glad to hear that you also have time to watch movies there.  And Im really happy that you have such nice friends.  I hope that they wont change towards you.  Its also good that you received the letters that we sent at your old address.

We went to Paulino Salanguits place.  When we first went, he wasnt home.  So Auntie Charito and I went to visit Auntie Deda at work (Census) instead.  Last Saturday, we went to Paulinos house again, but he wasnt home, again.  We left your parcel to his roommate.  Paulino phoned later, and said that he wasnt sure if he would be able to bring the scissors.  Hes taking a chance, though, and will try to bring it with him.  The chocolates that you sent us havent melted.  We already ate all of them.  We also finished one pack of the orange juice.

Ate Diana is sending her regards.  She hasnt left for Japan yet.  Shell probably leave around June or July.  You know what, she signed up for the Binibining Pilipinas.  She bought a pair of bathing suit and leg make-up (to cover her leg scar).  But she wasnt chosen to be a contestant.  Sayang nga eh.  Anyway, she will be going to Japan, naman.

Last Saturday, before we went to Paulinos, Auntie Charito and I, together with Melissa, went to CEU to have Mels teeth fixed.  She needed a new jacket.  Tita Nene talked to a Dentistry student, so it was free of charge.  Auntie Charito also asked the student to look at my teeth, which needed fillings.  She put only a temporary filling.  We went back on Thursday to put a permanent filling.  I think Mel will have a tooth pulled out, so does Margo.

Always take care of yourself to avoid colds and cough.  Please quit your part-time job so that you wont get sick.  Dont worry about us too much.  We know that you are there for our own good.  But you know what, Ma, were used to a simple way of life.  I know that we will finish college somehow.  So please dont work too hard.  Sige ka, if you get sick, youll have more expenses.

     Sige ha.  Take care always.

Yours,
Irene
