| May 5, 1981 Hello Dolly, Hi! How are you? Hope youre feeling fine and hope everythings okay in your new place. I received the birthday card that you sent me including the $20. We also received the parcel. Somebody delivered the money on April 29, while the parcel arrived on April 30. Thank you for everything. Michelle and Margo loved the presents that you sent them, so does Melissa and Uncle Donatos children. Its a good thing that you sent me a new bag. I can replace my old school bag, which is already torn. Thank you for the dress and the address book that you sent me. The dress fits me well. Lyn and I went shopping for school supplies. You know what, prices here have gone up. Notebooks are now P2.30 per piece. And that was already cut price at National Bookstore. Transit fares are now 65 centavos. It used to be 50. It might go up to 75 by school opening. May 10 is Mothers Day. I thought that it was only celebrated here in the Philippines. But I saw in the calendar that you sent us that its also Mothers Day there in Canada. Its probably celebrated all over the world. Its a good thing that we have Mothers Day. Children can have the chance to show their parents their love. But I think that every day should be Mothers Day. Because in my opinion, even a million thanks is not enough to compensate for the sufferings, the love and the care that parents, especially mothers, give their children. By the way, have you received all the letters that we sent you? Were worried that the letters that we sent you in your old address might have been lost. What about our pictures, have you received them yet? Oh sige ha. Until here. Yours, Irene |
