| March 27, 1981 Hello Dolly, Hi! How are you? Hope youre always feeling fine. We have gotten back the results of our post tests and periodic exams. I am so glad to tell you that I topped most of the subjects in our post tests. I got very high scores in Chemistry and Geometry. My teachers were very much impressed with me, especially my teacher in Chemistry. This was the first time that the school got a high score in the post test in Chemistry. Many students find this subject hard. My score was 93%, whereas last year, the highest score was 88%. My Chemistry teacher was so impressed. She said that she'll give me 97% on my report card. In Geometry, my score was 90.5%, and the second highest score was 79%. In Chemistry, I got 93%, the second highest score was 80%. Do you see the difference? I think the teachers are talking about it in every department. Now everybody in school knows me. We had our Recognition Day on March 25. I was given 5 awards. 1) Outstanding Student: Academic Excellence, 2) Best in English III, 3) Best in Chemistry, 4) Best in Mathematics III, and 5) Best Reader in English. Auntie Charito was very happy. She was surprised that I got too many awards. She thought that I was getting an award only in Chemistry. I didnt know about the other awards, I was told only that day. My classmates were also happy for me. My Chemistry teacher gave me a present. She said that its a souvenir. She is very kind to me. She said that she wanted to meet you. Sayang. You are not here. Auntie Charito also gave me a present. Uncle Gene gave me some money. By the way, Melissa just graduated. Of course, Auntie Charito was very happy about that. After all the .. you know what she did finish high school. Lina went with Auntie Charito on Mels graduation day. Lina told me that Auntie Charito cried. It must have been tears of joy. We had our Garland Festival on the night of March 25. It was like a JS (Junior-Senior Prom). The only difference was that we were all girls. This was coordinated by the YDT Department. I was chosen to represent the Junior Assembly (3rd years). I was asked to deliver a speech. This was the first time I had to make a speech, so I asked my adviser, Mrs. Tampoc, who was also my English teacher, to help me write a speech. I was very nervous when I got up on the stage to deliver my speech. I wore a pink dress (all the juniors had to wear pink). Auntie Charito let me borrow her sandals. She took some pictures. Ill send them once theyre developed. On March 30, well have our clearance signed by the teachers. On April 1, report cards will be sent home. Then our school vacation starts. We received your package on March 26 pa. We got everything. Nothing was missing. Thank you very much. You are so cute in your pictures. Dont worry about us here. We write you regularly. I dont wonder why you receive them late. Well, you know how slow the mail is. It will be Holy Week soon. Please tell us how they celebrate it there. Please also tell us about your activities there. We already miss you, kasi. Okay, till next time. Bye. I miss you, Irene |
