After adverb talvez Talvez eu compre um novo computador. Maybe I'll buy a new computer.

 

Pretérito imperfeito do subjuntivo

Conditional clauses expressing imginary situations, right after se Se eu tivesse carro, eu te levaria ao aeroporto. If I had a car, I'd take you up to the airport.
Sentences expressing desire Se ao menos eu tivesse vinte anos! If only I were twenty years old!

 

Pretérito mais-que-perfeito do subjuntivo

Clauses expressing what you would have done if things had been different Se você não tivesse ido, eu não teria me divertido tanto. If you hadn't been there, I wouldn't have had so much fun.
Sentences expressing frustration Se eu lhes tivesse dito a verdade! If only I had told them the truth!

 

Futuro do subjuntivo

Future time (adverb) clauses right after time conjunctions such as quando, assim que, etc Vou te ligar assim que eu chegar. I'll call you as soon as I arrive.
Conditional clauses expressing future possibility or probability, right after conjunctions se, caso, etc Meus pais ficarão contentes se você vier à festa. My parents will be glad if you come to the party.
Defining adjective clauses, right after relative pronouns such as que, quem, etc Aqueles que estudarem bastante terão boas notas. Those who study a lot will get good grades.
Futuro composto do subjuntivo
Future time (adverb) clauses right after time conjunctions such as quando, assim que, etc Envie-me um e-mail assim que você tiver obtido o resultado das prova. Send me an e-mail as soon as you have gotten the test result.
Defining adjective clauses, right after relative pronouns such as que, quem, etc Aqueles que tiverem estudado bastante terão boas notas. Those who study a lot will get good grades.

 

Imperativo afirmativo e negativo
