Futuro do presente composto do indicativo
Actions that will have happened by the time something else does. Ele já terá voltado da exposição quando o senhor Martins ligar. He will have already come back from the exhibition when Mr. Martins calls.

Futuro do pretérito do indicativo

 Clauses expressing what you would do if things were different Se eu fosse rico, compraria um apartamento em Higienópolis. If I were rich, I would buy an apartment in Higienópolis.
Polite requests O senhor poderia me ajudar? Could you help me, sir?
Futuro do pretérito composto do indicativo
Clauses expressing what you would have done if things were or had been different Se você não tivesse ido, eu não teria me divertido tanto. If you hadn't been there, I wouldn't have had so much fun.
Doubt and uncertainty Ouvi dizer que ele teria voltado ao Brasil ontem à noite. I hear he must have come back to Brazil last night.
