Notes

1. Don't use preposition sem (without) before pronoun quem when you refer to people - use o qual:

sem o qual

sem a qual

sem os quais

sem as quais

Essa é a mulher sem a qual não consigo viver.

That's the woman (who) I can't live without.

2. Never say quando to refer to time - use preposition + que or preposition + o qual / a qual / os quais / as quais, depending on the rules previously stated, e.g:

O carnaval é o feriado durante o qual os brasileiros se divertem muito.

O carnaval é o feriado em que os brasileiros se divertem muito.

Carnival is the time of the year during which (when) Brazilians have a lot of fun.

A primavera é a estação em que a vida recomeça.

The spring is the season in which life begins again.
