Distraut is one of the bands on the forefront of the local music scene in northwestern Illinois. Featuring
a line-up of mostly original songs and a few select heinie-kicking covers, Distraut puts on a stage show
like few others. The combination of grinding riffs, intense drum beats, and dark, probing lyrics make
for a live event that will leave you with a grungeful lust for more. |

So heavy music is what you crave and you don't think there's a local band to fill your need? Think again! Distraut is the premier metal band in the Dixon, IL, area, and we're proud to be one of the best bands you're likely to see without paying too much money for a ticket just to find you're too far away to properly enjoy the music... right in the middle of the floor with everyone else!
Oh, and don't think we're wussies that try to keep the masses going with pale imitations of well-known bands. 75% of our music is good ol' home-grown original tunes that are bound to keep you moving and be stuck in your head for days after the show.
Don't get us wrong, we still throw in our best butchering of other people's songs that we can, but that's just because the songs kick heinie. Songs from bands like Korn, 6 Feet Under, Coal Chamber, System of a Down, and others for the sole purpose of giving some of the more inexperienced fans in the crowd something they will recognize. |
