Despite the fact that Pokemon Fire Red & Leaf Green are remakes of the original Red & Green versions, there will definitely be some new additions, like the brand new Rainbow Islands.
Meeting Bill on Cinnibar Island Racing off to the Rainbow Islands...
After beating the Cinnibar Gym, you encounter Bill. You and Bill will then board a speading ship headed for the Rainbow Islands.

You will arrive on Rainbow Island 1 together with Bill. He will show you to the large PokeCenter and explain the large machine's use.

If you haven't already guessed, the Rainbow Islands will be named by number.  These Islands are situated to the Southeast of the Kanto mainland.  And the best part is, some of these islands will let you catch wild Johto Pokemon and numerous Legendary Pokemon!!  Below are a few maps of the islands.

Just in case you were wondering, after leaving the Rainbow Islands, you may revisit them again and again by going to the Vermillion City Harbor.
