Hi Everyone, Little problem that i'm sure one of you have had to solve over and over again but, everytime i turn my hdr on, the LED appears with HDR V8 and then wont load...... then if i leave it for a while, she comes back to life!@?!??!?! any suggestions? -is there a way to reset the board or do i need a new HD? a million thank you's for any help......

I'd just like to thank Kelly for the advice (Aug 2000) re: a good old fashioned clean up.. it worked wonders!!!! Re: leaving a gap between pins, has anyone confirmed that that is ok to do and it aids against popping?

Hi guys.Sorry for the misprint.I own a MX2 (not a MX1)and I would like the manual for it.I went through all the posts and I see others have the same problems as I have.I thought it was the representative here at Greece but it's only Vestax.The sept. 96 manual (v1,12) I have doesn't say a thing how to asign a track to the front panel input.I'm also interested on the backup possibilites I might have.Also I'm geting distortion from traks 1 and 2 of the slave from time to time.Still interested on syncing and controling the samplitude 24-96 (sekd) with my MX2.C YA

Hey there gang. I got an email from Bertsch today and he said that my new DPR unit should ship on Wed the 8th. He also said that a software upgrade is only weeks away. The upgrade will include a sample rate conversion. I don't know about the rest of you but I think that might come in real handy sometimes. After a couple of delays, it looks like maybe I will finaly get it just in time for Thanksgiving. I'll let the group know how it goes. Happy hardisking.

Hi Dudes! John, it sounds like you may need a new power supply.The V8s are notorious for having a cheap ass power supply. I had 2 of my V8s rebuilt, and this is what it says on the new power supply:P 120V 60Hz Top...273-1512-LR63462.....BEI B1512T 95/43....S 25.2Vct 2A .Put one of these in, I bet it will work like its supposed to....If anyone needs manuals,I have them for the machines listed under my name. Email me for details.I also have the service manual for the HDR6. The scans on this one are a bit fuzzy on some of the finer details, but most of the info is there and intact.Peace.-CS7

Hello happy hard-diskersÖ Well, my syquest syjet drive finally packed in completely last week, and when I tried to reinstall thee 1gb drive the hdr-v8 came with, that had crapped out too. Misery abounds, as my poor hdr is sitting in the rack not working. I tried to find the 4.3gb drives the Vestax Germany fellow recommended, but no luck on any of them - my various sources say they're all out of production. My PC world catalogue lists a whole bunch of drives going from 7.5 gb upwards - any recommendations on what to avoid, or what works well? I read in previous months that the machine (mine is vers 3.15, BTW) can use a 10gb drive, but will only access 8.4gb - this would do, but there are a few 8.4 gb drives listed too. I'm very confused, and frustratedÖ.soÖ.any suggestions for larger-capacity drives which will work with my v-8? best etc norman fay

Hello- Got two seagate st-32140a hard drives for my hdr-6.They each work just fine individually,but I cant get my machine to recognize both drives at once.I've tried setting the jumpers on the drives various ways-always to no avail.Any ideas?Any suggestions much appreciated.

Does anyone know what specs are required to replace the internal Hard Drive in the HDR8? And where do you get them? I heard you can upgrade to either 2 - 8 Gigs or 2 - 4 gigs? Or is this just for the HDR-V8. I would greatly appreciate any help!

Hi guys! Some of you have questions that can be answered by going through the old POST ITs. Others of you have questions that you will have to find out by trial and error. Steve and MC , you guys are in this category.(Let us know what you come up with!)Some drives just do not work, or just do not work together.Why? Who knows? Some of the hdrs are pickier than others. Anyway, here is a place to look for hard drives...http://www.pricewatch.com/ Oh yeah, someone asked a while back if a HDR would run OK if not mounted horizontally...I asked a friend of mine who fixes computers and he said hard drives dont have to be horizontal, in fact his computer is laying on its side. Since the hard drive is the only moving part in the HDRs, one can draw the conclusion that mounting it vertically or whatever would be OK.L8ter-CS7

Did anyone try to download the MP8 Download Automated Mixer from the Reference Part Of This Site? The MP6 download is fine but it says the MP8 Is not a complete Zip file, Does Anyone know of anywhere else to get the 8 track version?
