Chris Milanko [[email protected]] Fri Apr 9 00:11:21 1999 Great to see this resource. BTW "fourm" is spelt forum. Cheers Chris Milanko Adelaide Australia DaveK [[email protected]] Fri Apr 9 01:11:25 1999 Anyone else had wierd problems ,i.e. intermittent, using a HDR-8 with the MX-1? Sometimes it plays as if there is nothing on the disk untill I rr, ff, play a few times, or turn on then off the MX-1. Setting up locates doesn't help. p.s. has anyone else tried using HD's larger than 2g, as in the mods page- 10g all internally sounds better than a bunch of ORB/Syquest disks, and sloppy connections out the back of the HDR-8. Let us know... Peace DaveK DaveK [...@...] Fri Apr 9 01:13:49 1999 webmaster, F.Y.I., when I try to go to another part of the forum after leaving here, I get a 404- well actually it just says "document not found" james [[email protected]] Fri Apr 9 19:25:55 1999 This page has become one of my most frequently traveled places just that quick. (Thanks RO). Keep the up the good work. besides the ORB drive, will an internal Jaz drive work with the v8? Orb sounds hot, but still waiting on a full scale rollout that would convince to me to purchase one. (Syquest anxiety). J Ron [[email protected]] Fri Apr 9 22:51:25 1999 What drive with removable media (other than the intended Syquest) has anyone had experience with re the HDR-V8? Is there a good mechanical fit? Also, the V8 wooden spinner knob is gawdawful! Has anyone tried to replace it with a metal one from an HRD-6? - Ron Rico [[email protected]] Wed Apr 14 03:39:35 1999 James, The reason that VNO came up with the ORB internal is the iomega jaz only supports SCSI. The ORB is internal EIDE, more accurate and way more cheaper than the jaz. Besides, even if you utilize a bigger drive you will eventually have to archive all that data. The ORB just ejects the disc and you could be compatible with another HDR user.
