The Exotic Land For Trekkers

Trekking
For most of the travellers trekking in the Himalaya is the whole reason for visiting Nepal. Containing eight of the world's ten highest peaks - including, of course, Everest - Nepal's 800km link in the Himalayan chain puts all other attractions in the shade. More than just majestic scenery, the "Abode of Snow" is also the home of Sherpas, yaks, yetis and snow leopards. Nepal's trekking regions take in all parts of the country. A huge area covering nearly the entire northern half of Nepal, span an incredible diversity of terrain and cultures, linked by an ancient and still very functional network of foot trails. Trekking needn't be expensive nor agonizingly difficult. Most treks follow established routes. Trails are often steep but you walk at your own pace, and no standard trek goes higher than about 5500m. A typical day's walk lasts from five to seven hours and involves a number of ascents and descents. On an organized camping trek the day is run to a remarkably tight schedule.

Predeparture Planning

Camping Trekking
A skilled guide will explain the culture, society and the nature where you walk. A cook will prepare very nutritious food and other crew members carry all the camping and cooking equipment and food. You will only have to carry your own daypack and camera. This will give you plenty of time to enjoy the nature.

Teahouse Trekking
In popular trekking area, there are lodges and inns run by the local people where you can eat and sleep. You just trek together with a guide who will show and tell you about the most beautiful and interesting places. With a porter taking most of your gear, you only have to carry a small pack containing the things you need during the day.
