== become a part of the Hunter College Fencing Team == Dear Student-Athlete, We are trying to reach out and recruit student-athletes for the Hunter College Fencing Team. If you are interested in continuing your fencing career while obtaining an affordable education that tries to meet the highest academic standards, then Hunter College- CUNY is the right choice for you. Founded in 1870, Hunter is one of the oldest public colleges in the country, dedicated from its earliest days to serving a student body that reflects the diversity of New York City. Located in the heart of Manhattan, Hunter is easily accessible through public transportation. Both our Mens and Womens teams have a historically strong program, which was coached by the legendary Julia Jones for 20 seasons. We also hold competitive membership with the MACFA, NIWFA, EWFC, and NCAA (Division III). In addition to placing fencers in all three weapons each year in the NCAA Regionals, the Hawks also annually face some of the nations top teams from all NCAA divisions plus a number of the highest caliber club teams. Hunter College is the only CUNY college, and also one of three colleges in Manhattan, to have both a Mens and Womens Varsity Fencing Team. You could also request a recruitment guide, along with our recruitment packet, and we will make sure that you receive it. Regards,

This way we can strive for the smoothest possible transition to get you ready to register for your upcoming semester. NCAA rules state that only a junior or senior in high school can contact us, not the other way around; we can not contact students unless they contact us first, therefore, please fill out the student profile sheet so that we are made aware of your interest. Please fill out the information on the Student Profile Sheet and follow the directions below. • What happens once I open the student profile sheet? The student profile sheet is in pdf format. Once you open it, you will be able to type in your information directly on the sheet. After you're done, you will be able to save the file to your computer and e-mail the information to us directly. Just click here to e-mail us. Hunter's main campus, located at 68th Street and Lexington Avenue, offers a central geographic location with access to numerous locales throughout NYC. All of Manhattan is our playground and our city-wide "campus" includes, not only, the opportunity for our students to study in the world-famous Central Park but also to culturally stimulate themselves through the use of local museums (American Museum of Natural History, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art to name a few), Zoo (Central Park Zoo) and libraries (The New York Public Library branches). In addition, Hunter also has dorms (located at 25th Street and 1st Avenue), which not many CUNY colleges can offer their students. Please visit resident life to obtain more information on the process to apply for the dorms. And this only scratches the surface of what Hunter has to offer geographically and beyond.
