Round 6, SRCMCC summer champs.
I was lucky enough to get a job as security at Silverstone for the Grand Prix!!! Travelling on Friday eve, I was on the Hangar strait grand stand for 6 am. What a view! First thing, I went on a coach ride around the full GP circuit. That was so cool. Watched everything from one of the best spots on the circuit.
Beered it up, at the campsite, (thanks to Lol and Richard for the barbeque badger burgers!), then check out the F1 market and fair.
Up at 4am Sunday morning, to be on station for 5. Ouch! And hungover too!
Change of plan for the morning, was put on copse E grandstand, gutted, couldnt see a thing! Our supervisor got me put back on Hangar with 4 minutes till the race started!!! pheww! THANKS DANNY!!!! XXX What a race, action all the way.
After the racing was finnished, I went to the Jordan party, and had front row views! then bumped into Sir Jackie Stewart! Then Tony Jardine, then Status Quo, then Jodie Marsh! And all the while Damon Hill and noddy from Slade were rocking it on stage! What a buzz!! Sad news when I got back to the campsite, an historic driver was killed at Beckets.
Thanks to KT for putting me forward for the job, love you mate! And to Danny for all her help and support throughout the weekend, Lol, Richard, Steve, and of course my manager Andy for letting me back to Hangar.
Summer trophy day: A hot day, and with a very good charger, (borrowed from Ben Crease), a new 12v battery, and being almost perfectly prepared, enabled me to score my best results for some time. Trying destperately not to make any mistakes, I managed to get consistant low 16 lappers all through qualifying, ending up on pole for the touring c final with 16 laps in 305.22.
Neil Reeder broke his chassis early on, so I had an easy run to the F1 win. Still putting in 16 lappers and its the williams first meeting!
Three legged finals, and leg 1: Staying out of trouble into the first corner, I pulled away for a lap or two, then oops, then oops again dropped me to 3rd or 4th.
Managed to make it up to 2nd by the buzzer. Leg 2: Deicided to try slowing right down for every corner, take the perfect line, every time, with hardly any mistakes, I led from the start, keeping it together till the end to win. Leg 3: This went much the same, staying of trouble to take the win, and overall cfinal win.
So, with two wins, my trophy collection is up to four.
F201 Williams finished, SD setup by Chris grainger. Preparing for the southampton trophy day on the 13th. Hopefully Jason, Shaun and Ian are all going.
Jason busy looking for F201 setups online. Found a very drivable setup after a test at the southampton track. Lets hope it works on race day! SD going very well at the same test. Jasons F201 williams FW24 arrived from Hong Kong today. What a bargain.
Sd being re-built, after a few friction problems. Shaun has got a few upgrades for his TL01, so he is looking forward to hitting the track after a while away from racing.
An unexpected boost to jasons racing budget enabled him to get the latest Yokomo shaft drive touring car, the (wait for it!) MR4TC SD SSG Special. Full build/test report soon.

At 1:19pm , a baby boy.Weighing in at 7lb 2 1/2oz. Named him Leo.
