Gippsland and Native Orchids
Bass Region,  Gippsland Tour . Melbourne vic Princes Highway - freeway -then off  to Loch where my mother was born,  to Inverloch via very small roads and high green hills with dairy cows. Two  hours from Burwood to Inverloch which has good quality cafes and coffee shops for Lunch!

Inverloch west  to Cape Paterson road is a stunning 14km stretch of the Bunurong Coastal Drive; it hugs the coastline and provides an abundance of photographic opportunities. Look out for ‘Eagles Nest’ . Best to travel east to west so you can easily duck into the parking places to get a good look at the scenery.

Eagle's Nest in Bunurong Marine Park between Cape Paterson and Wonthaggi- Looking south west.

Looking east at  Eagle's Nest.

Kilcunda Trestle Bridge Rail Trail footpath over it now open  to Wonthaggi on the Bass Highway.

Native  Orchids- what's left of them in the Eastern suburbs and thieves have gone over the area very boldly removing almost all now even on the road verge opposite a barking dog. Also Steiglitz.
I am using the Feild Guide to the native Orchids of Southern Australia, 2000, David & Barbar Jones.
