| We are located in Bakersfield, CA. We raise and show rat terriers. This all started a couple years ago when our house and family was graced by the addition of a Rat Terrier... We were just a family looking for a good dog to add to our happy home. After some searching, we chose a Rat Terrier, because of its size and ease of maintenance. And the fact that they are just so darn cute!!! We discovered our little Sugar in the Fall of 2002 and she has filled our home with love and joy. She introduced us to a whole new world of dogs! With our sweet Sugar, we discovered that the rat terrier is so much more than "cute". They have personality plus, otherwise known as "Ratitude". They are very intelligent animals with a very strong desire to please. This along with their nautal ability to hunt, make them a very trainable and extreamly loyal companion. Of course we grew to totally fall in love with and respect this wonderfully unique breed. Sugar is the foundation of the Happy Tails Rat Terriers line and with Blue and KitKat added to our family, we hope that we can breed quality rat terriers that others will be able to experience the same joy that we have in being owned by such a lovable little breed of dog.
