A simple website that has a focus on dogs, or at least there's a focus on three!
This is a blog site that aims to tell the story of three dogs named Minnie,
Mickey, and Daisy! Their owner, creator of this site, is a huge dog lover and
what better way to show that love by making a website about them.
List of Food Recommended By My Vet
NOTICE:
I am not a professional when it comes to the health or food consumptions for dogs or
other animals that the following brands may offer products for. The following article
is merely my research on the brands my veterinarian had suggested to me when I had asked
her what brands I should give my dogs. The following article is my summary or thoughts on
those brands.
If you need to see what food brands are best for you dog, talk to your local veterinarian to
see what they have to say!

Recommended Food Brands
Blue Buffalo
Love them like family. Feed them like family.®
I'm actually feeding this brand to my dog as it's easily accessible to me in local stores
however warning that this is a pricy brand. I pay around $20 for a medium size "Life Protection Forumla:
Chicken and Brown Rice Recipe" (it has yellow packaging). This brand provides dry and wet foods for
dog owners to find what best suits their dog's taste and preference. They also have cat products as well!
Unlike the previous brand I fed my dogs which contained corn-by-products, my dogs have kept a consistant
weight since I've switched them to Blue Buffalo.
A Petsmart affliated brand that is rated 4 stars as seen from Dog Food Advisor
(site)!
From what I've seen online regarding Simply Nourish, it appears like this is a brand aimed for dogs with
particular illnesses. Meaning that the ingrediants used in this brand have be picked for specific purposes
to help with the dog's immunity or other ailment. Specific ingrediants found in other brands are also left
out in order to accommodate for dogs unable to eat said ingrediants. From how I understand this brand, it's
meant for dogs with sensitive immune systems, stomachs, or other illnesses that can be affected but what the
dog eats (article).
This brand very much emphasizes the importance of farming, pro-farm, and humane it production quality is. The company
lets their target audience know that they do care about people's pets and how the pet food is not only made, but
how the process of how the food is made. From Dog Food Advisor, the general reviews for CANIDAE dog
food is 4 stars or higher. (site).
Additionally, Labrador Training HQ and Consumer Affairs shared a common review for the
CANIDAE brand while commenting on that this brand can be used for most dogs.
(LTHQ)
(CA).
I'm not too sure what to think about for Authority; for Dog Food Advisor, the ratings for 3 of its
dog food products maintain 3-4 stars (site).
That 3 stars entry is what makes me question the brand. Regardless, I did find an article regarding Authority stating
the qualities of the dig food and what it provides (article).
With the tone of the author, I can only assume that Authority a hit or miss if the chances are 80/100. The brand contains
corn and corn-by-products so that's something I can't feed to my dogs.
From checking the different dog food product reviews on Dog Food Advisor, the brand has a trend for 4 stars
(site). I also looked at some reviews seen on Consumer
Affairs and it currently has 4.5 stars; some reviews on the page are awfully concerning though
(CA). To be honest, I'm not too big on their motto
as when I think "clean", I think soaps and cleaning supplies— not how I feed myself or my pets.
Wellness provides a bunch load of dog food produced and the trend on Dog Food Advisor is that this is a 4-5 star
product(site)! Thought a few products either discontinured or
ranged with a 3 star review, the majority still had 4 or over! Additionally, I found an article from Labrador Training HQ
detailing that this is a highly recommended product for dogs of all ages. LTHQ also mentions that it's not an expensive brand but neither
is is a generic brand either; a product price in the middle (article).
The positive reviews for this product makes me want to keep this in mind should I have to change brands.
Before I mention any of my findings with this brand's review, I absolutely do not understand the brand motto. "Natural Petworks"?
What does that even mean, I tried to google "define petworks" but that did not bring me the information I was looking for. Maybe
petworks is just refuring to pet care or things that work for pets? I not entirely sure.
Anyway, to what I found. The Organix variety under the Castor&Pollux brand has remarkible reviews under Dog Food Advisor
with 4-5 stars being a common trend (site).
Additionally, this brand variation emphasizes its point about how natural and organic this product it. Where company is the only
"organic certified manufacturer for both dry and canned foods for pets" (article).
This brand has a trend is at 4 stars but particular varieties differ in ratings as seen on the Dog Food Advisor
(site). Natural Balance provides different
animal meats for either a dog's preference or to accommodate for allergies. For their different dog foods may also be a
matching dog treats, say a lamb-based food that also has lamb-based threats (sold separately). Natural Balance is very
confident in their brand to which there is a "Confidence Program" that allows customers to check their products Best-By-Dates
and so forth. The brand was founded by Dick Van Patten who wanted to create a wholesome dog food that was far better the
low-quality dog food brands at his time (article).
My cousin has switched one of her dogs onto this brand as he has a sensitive immune system and needed to have consistant meal
and treat types.
