Earthquake

Millions of people asleep

Unaware of those deep

Shudders within the bosom of mother earth

Harbinger of pain, suffering and, maybe, death.

She heaves and wreaks havoc on all

Rich, poor, men, women, children big and small

Perish in a few moments, even before they knew what hit them

The Richter Scale shook and read near ten.

The disastrous disaster had dealt a deadly blow

Even the fastest scientific equipment to predict it were slow

Nature again had proved superior in it's 'neanderthal stage'

It can beat the smartest creature 'man' in this 'atomic age'.

A lesson of humility relearnt the hard way

Against human's tyranny, Lady Nature had her silent say.
