| Hi all you little punks. Welcome to my Halo 2 Page, where I have accumulated every piece of inromation that has support from a mass audience, official magazine, or from bungie. And.. some reliable websites but about 96% of all my info is guarenteed accurate, I check my sources. Besides, I do this for the punks... that and I'm bored and want you all as hyped about this game as I am. Thanx to Morbidaza for info. look for this game Q1 2004. Got info I dont? I got something wrong? email me at [email protected] HOME OF PUNKS |
| Okay, hi ya Mr Draconfrost, I hear you know about Halo 2. Mind if I ask you some questions? Okay then, I think I've mastered all the guns in Halo, what do I have to look forward to in Halo 2? 2 known new weapons - - The Battle Rifle - Pic - 2X zoom in, basically a slower Assault Rifle with qualities of a Pistol. - The SMG (Sub-machine gun) - 1 Handed, extremely fast and very inaccurate from a distance, to sum it up, an assault rifle on crack. - Unknown - What is this new weapon we have seen? We dont know, but the Brutes (Big Monkey creatures) wield this gun and it looks quite weird. Sorry, that's all I have on it. It may be made for meleeing 'cause it has a huge blade on it like a sword or axe. - Unknown Grenades - Also a new weapon from the Brutes. These long grenades rest in it's belt and their effect are unknown = Speculation on new weapons: These new weapons have been going around the internet but in no way are confirmed and likely they will not make Halo 2. - Flamethrower - Pic - It was placed in Halo 1 but they took it out due to time constraints. HUGE demand from the fans on this weapon may have forced Bungie into releasing it on Halo 2. One crippling factor is that if the flame thrower is in the game, everything must burn. Flaming grunts, burning corpses, burnt trees... sounds cool but imagine the framerate lagg. Even a few explosions in Halo causes some lagging. Will the flames be worth it if the weapon comes out? -New info-> In the game spot review for Halo PC, flame thrower was listed as a melee weapon. This gives much hope for Halo 2, but who knows Gamespot, I mean they did indirectly talk trash about Halo 2 making money only because of the hype... - Energy Sword - Those pesky elites used it, will it be our turn? George Onyon (A person who has said to have talked to bungie at fanfest) has told me that it is more likey than not to appear so cross your fingers. Who knows, go medevil on some aliens with a sword in one hand and a jackel's shield in the other? - Fuel Rod Gun - Remember the gun the Grunts used in later levels of the game? Like the hunters weapon except mobile. Well in Halo PC this weapon is added (See weapons section on site for more info) and may be in our new Halo 2. Who doesn't expect this weapon to be in Halo 2? It is inching its way closer to the known weapon catagory. - Manuel-detonation Grenades - Considered by Bungie and publicly talked about by the developers. You throw the grenade and hold the grenade button. When you let go, it will detonate. Imagine seeing your opponet walk onto that rocket launcher in a pile of grenades. Are they nuetral or active? Best chance is to just walk away, but that CTF flag looks unsafe too.. who knows. Can we play as aliens like I've heard? Yes and no. The only opportunity you have to play as an alien (Elites ONLY) is when you play multiplayer games on teams. No longer will there be Red Vs Blue (I will miss the show) but instead Elites Vs Spartan II. Only in those games where it would normally be red vs blue (not including modded xbox) can you do this. Earlier you said SMG is 1 handed, why does that matter? Because, now you CAN wield two weapons at the same time. You can have 1 in your right and 1 in your left (If both weapons are 1 handed) and rip out some major ownage. Yes, you can make combos such as Plamsa pistol in 1 hand and SMG in the other. How do you switch only 1 hand? No idea. How do I fire the charged plamsa pistol first to take out the shield and then fire only the SMG in the other hand? The right trigger fires the right gun, left trigger fires left gun now. How do I throw Grenades now? From my sources, you must put one of your guns away like in the E3 movie at the end. What new Vehicles are there? Go to the vehicles page but here is a sum up. - Warthog - Group pic - There are many new Warthogs, such as a version made to drive in the snow, a normal one, a jungle made one, and a transport (carries 4 who cant do anything, 1 driver and 1 guy who can use his gun in the passenger. 6 total) and finally a normal one but rather a machine gun ontop, it uses a form of a rocket launcher, this is called the Guass Cannon, a source has told me that it is basically magnatized (maybe a pulling in effect?) chunk of sharpnel, superheated. - ATV - Rear pic - Front Pic - The ATV, could it be the new MVP in ctf? It's small, very darty and very quick. Expect this to be the tricks king of halo 2. No gun on back like the warthog, no built in weapon like the ghost. Instead you lean on the dashboard and point your weapon (does it have to be 1 handed? Without a source I cant be sure but I assume it must) and use that to fire straight ahead. Expect alot of training to learn to drive this puppy and fire at the same time. 1 person. A source has told me that LIGHT weapons as well as one handed weapons can be used for firing. Battle rifle yes, but dont expect a rocket launcher or fuel gun (not LIGHT). If you wield a battle rifle, how do you steer with one hand you may ask? I don't know yet, that's why it is from a source. not set in stone by Bungie. - Pelican - You all know that great human dropship, in single player it took us everywhere we needed to be. Now OXM (official Xbox Magazine) stated that the MC WILL be able to fly the pelican. Now that sounds alright and all but if you watch the E3 Halo 2 video, at the begging, the pelican lands and you can slightly see some nice guns (Warthog style) on the bottom. Now we are talkin. - Shadow - Nice Rendering Pic - Alien Warthog. 1 driver 1 gunner (the Shade weapon, alien turret) and 2 hanging off the side to use their own weapon (like passenger in hog). - Creeper - Sketch - If you have seen E3's video for Halo 2, you saw quite a bit of these guys. These vehicles have very limited information about them but they use the same magnet covered shard shooter as the rocket hog as it seems. Think sleeked out Wraith. - Phantom - Sketch Here we go, in my opinion, the coolest addition. The Phantom is seen on E3's Halo 2 Vid, it's the new dropship. With a shade like weapon (the alien turret) and opponent carrying abilities, these guys can make or break a war.So ya say, yea, it sounds like the old airships that those covies used. Well, in this game the dropship Phantom has life value, that means you can shoot it down before it gets to unload it's drop of enemies, saving you alot of battle. Thanks to Connor Howell for pointing out, on the sketch, a wraith is being carried and dropped. Only giving you another reason to shoot this monster down before it drops its payload. - Moon Buggy - A vehicle made for that level everyone will experiment on. The moon level where gravity is very low, expect many new grenade movies. Our moon? who knows, but we know its our buggy. So the aliens are smarter and quicker, what can our MC do to get the edge back? 1) For 1, probably one of the biggest CTF and an all-around huge change. The run factor. Instead of having to trot around like a frolicing pansy, you can lower your weapon(s) and start booking to your next location. You can't shoot during it, true, but they people who are shooting at you cant keep up and lay fire either. Most likely you can only run for a 5-10 second burst. 1 thing to keep in mind, you can't strafe (sidestep) only go forward, backwards, and turn while you run. The sprint is limited (probably 5-10 seconds) at a time. 2) Next, kinda "borrowed" from the wave of stealth shooters, MC can no "peer" around the corner. This way you can see whats on the other side of the corner wihtout putting yourself in danger. 3) Also, Combo melees. When ya whack that fool in his face, he just moves back and shakes it off, now you pull combos with your melee. (this is a fictional example. He may not do this exact combo) First, ya could take out your Battle Rifle, whack him in the gut with handle, right after that you lift your barrel and jab him in the throat, finally cracking him in the face with your handle, resulting in 3 melees while he cant do a thing about it. 4) Now, as you may have seen on the E3 demo, a ghost was about to squash the MC like we have done to out friends so many times, poor MC doesnt have a chance. Then everyone gets something no one expected. The MC jumped on the front of the ghost (probably press X riiight before he was to hit ya), caught his balance, knocked the driver out of the seat and stole the vehicle. Can we do it everytime? Not likely, variants such as speed and angle determine if you suceed. If you cruzin with a ghost at full speed, you dont need to fear being jacked... but plasma nades are still in existance ;-). New enemies? Yes, two that are known. The Brute and the Prophet. Brute - Sketch - The damaging power of a hunter along with the agility of the Elite. That's the description released but from the looks of the video, they are just big cuddly bears. you may say "They dont seem that powerful nor did they dance out of the line of fire like an elite in the E3 movie", but these giant apes will prove to be a strong force for they can knock out drivers of vehicles (can elites too? no idea) and in the E3 movie, the AI was not yet added in. The brutes were "grunted" just so you could see them in the movie. The game will come out with some smart primates. Prophet - Sketch - Model - The floating badboys will play mainly as a story line prop. This is all based on religion (the war) and these are the fueling Hitlers. They float on a flying seat but dont seem to wield a weapon. Will there seat prove to be your greatest foe? I dont know. A cool thing about them is each is unique. Every different prophet has it's own robe and Head dress. I dont have an friends. I dont have alot of cash. I will jut use gamespy on Halo 2 right? I dont know if Halo 2 will be the same on gamespy (I assume you will be able to play just fine though) but now Halo 2 players who pay that Xbox Live fee, There is said to be Large Advantages and many extras. Downloadable content? Xbox Live may support New modes of play? New levels? Who the hell knows. But yes, their will most likely be the Xbox communicator.. talk trash or strategy to your new friends online. I have seen the movies for Halo 2, the city looks great, but where else other than cities could we fight? That's where your not imformed my friend and that's why I'm here. Sure, you will be saving Earth from the invasion but that's only a detour from your real missions. The later half of the game, and the majority, revolves in the ALIEN'S homeworld, we go to their planet and kick some space scum ass. Alright, so I destroyed Halo. Why is the game still have the word Halo in it? Well, you did destroy Halo, true. But you did not destroy all of the Halos. More than one Halo was built by the forerunners. The word on the source is that you will not be hanging around this ring like you did in Halo 1. Infact, you may only glimpse it or maybe 1 level on it... but it's the thought that counts right ;-). Who knows, are we gonna get this halo to eliminate life near the aliens home planet? Revenge is sweet. So I'm on the alien homeworld fighting some prophets while I'm behind a table. That's interesting but what can I do new in this scenario that I couldn't do in Halo 1? Well, for one thing, lighting in this game is beyond beautiful. So here's one NEW thing ya could do, aim that new SMG at the roof and put your bead on that big-ass light bulb in the room. Yes, you can now shoot out the lights, making it pitch black in the room if there is no environment lighting (sun, plasma). And this isn't shade of gray dark, it's like you just turned your TV off black. So while that Prophet floats his ass into the walls of the dark, you take out your night vision sniper rifle. Oooohh... the possibilities. So me and my Stupid marine teammates are in the cafeteria and the aliens come in. The alien just does it's plain old scritped growl and it's scripted run to left corner and so on and my dumb marines shoot each other and complain. Sorry my friend, you must still be playing halo 1 cause Halo 2 is going to pump it up. Let's look at this scenario. You are in a cafeteria, there must be tables, a staging ground for the next example of Bungie excellence. The interactive environment lends many opportunities that are new to this game. One big one being the ability to run up to one of the tables (or other environment) and (assumingly press X) you can flip the table on it's side and take cover. Now, this doesn't mean you can build a table fort and be safe while your marines fight. Along with this new interaction, this table is also destructable. Not only is this table destructable, but other things in the game such as cars and signs and gas lines, etc. After you hide behind it, the plasma rifles will shoot relentlesly as two elites pin you down from getting up and a jackel is coming around the side to catch you off guard. The grunt walks around the other side so that you are busy penetrating a jackel shield, he is loading you silently with needles. This is a small example of the new AI. Inculding you "stupid" marines for now things such as Shotgun and rifle wielders will lead front lines while pistol and other weapons stay farther back. Another new thing these "stupid" creatures (refering to aliens and humans alike, collectively as creatures) can do is call in back up and support. When one is being pinned down, he will actually call for his buddy to throw some nades to break the wave or give backup fire so that the marine can safely retreat to his allies position. Not to kick a dead horse, but back to the tables and such. Not only can you use it, your marines (and aliens) can use this technique too... not because they are scripted to, but because they are under fire and need to retreat like a real soldier. And now the creatures can think about cover much more. If you are hiding behind a plywood door, the aliens wont think twice before cutting it into splinters with their plasma rifle. If you are hiding behind a stone pillar, they will shoot a few shots to surpress you as they circle around the object for a better strike. And now, Aliens can climb like the little monkies (Or in Brute's case, apes) that they are. Climbing ladders so that they can shoot from higher ground is a new issue for the MC. Your marines have a new class system themselves. Sure, last time there was a marine that wielded a sniper and one that wielded an assult rifle, but now these Marines our different. Snipers, shotgunners, rocket launcher marines, etc. Each will have a unique way of fighting, the snipers will actually lay low and the shotgunners will keep on their feet. And now they actually talk in real time. Instead of scripting a "Let's go" because he walked into a room or a "Take some of that" when he's gettin shot up. When they say "I need backup!" It's because they actually are being pinned down and a fellow marine will come to his assistance if they can. And not only will they call help from each other, they will ask help from you. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a RPG quest, it's because (as an example) need to get from point A to point B but are under fire. If you help him (and have good accuracy) he will make it across and continue, if you ignore him he will probably die but hey, you didnt waste ammo. And on a semi-related note, in the midst of wars, dont totally dismiss the grunts as just annoying fire to keep you from regenerating your shield. Now (as seen in the E3 Direct feed video) Grunts have there licence to drive ghosts at least, so though they are quasi weak, a ghost renderse all sizes equal ;) Well, I took your advise and saw E3 video. Sweeeet man! I mean a drop ship of spartans, I got to to see their faces! Well, I'm glad your psyched about that video, I know I was. But, those were not spartans of any kind other than the legendary Master Chief. Those sleek looking characters are a new group of marines. With a sleek, more powerful armor suit, these new elite crew are called ODST (thanks to Steve *BB* for the info). ODST - Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. A.K.A Helljumpers. Yea.... I know, what a sweet codename. Okay, tell me about the new multiplayer vehicle situation. Scorpion can now drive in a different direction that it's barrel is aimed (Think ghost's shark attack). Flying vehicles are in, but which ones exactly (pelican?) are gonna definitely make an appearnace, other than banshee, we dont know. Now (more likey than not guarenteed to apear in the game, which I think should not be) vehicles may have Real damage. As in they get destroyed after so much damage (and probably respawn back home). Okies, I remember that now. This question has been on my mind, will we find out what MC looks like under that helmet? No you will not, that's the concept. You are supposed to feel like you are the person. As someone once said in a forum (sorry I dont remember your name) When I play Golden eye and get a mission, I go "Okay, James has to do this" but in Halo it's "Okay, I have to go blow that up now". What about 343 Guilty Sparks? The Flood? and Captain Keyes? 343 is very popular amongst the Bungie team, so he may make a re-apperance, no guarentees. Same with the Flood, much talk about them and their history with the covies but no confirmation, except from EGM, which spoke of their return (Thank to Keith for info). Captain Keyes, he is out for Halo 2 but talk around the block says dont count him out yet.. but then again Bungie is known for "concealing the truth" so keep your eyes open in Halo 2 for good ole' Keyes, though from what we saw, he is dead. I still don't have any friends yet, are thier gonna be "Bots" like on Perfect dark. Multiplayer games but with AI opponents too? A dream even I have wished for. The Team at Bungie is taking it into "deep consideration" but nothing else said about it. Wow Mr Frost, now I'm psyched. Realism seems awsome. I mean it could be even more real... like come on, you shoot a warthog 900 times with a tank and it's still there.. kinda cool but still doesnt make sence. Well, I am glad you brought this up because George Onyon has came through again with new info. According to him, he talked in depth to the bungie people at fanfest, to a man named Mike Salmon. According to George "Near the end of fanfest Jamie *I guess the man doing the demo* did one more demo with only about 8 of us in there." "The most appealing part was the vehicle damage." "He started shooting one wing of the ghost and it started to dent, then started to hang a little lower on that one side. then he jumped on it to show us what would happen while trying to drive a ghost with one opperable wing. The thing was very difficult to turn in the opposite direction of the broken wing and it would scrape the ground every so often... very cool. One more thing on vehicle damage. Official xbox mag says that engines can stop working under receiving too much fire leaving you stuck out in the open in an unopperable warthog for instance. And supposedly even tired can be punctured with enough force this time around." " The over all best part is the real time damage, it's awsome to see dents and scrapes being born onto a vehicle from spread fire and boils from plasma weapons." |
