The whole Halo 2 release date before 2004 is completely untrue. Development schedule alone takes it past June and it has been confirmed by Bungie, Q1 (Jan-Apr) 2004 is the release date.

Hey, my buddy/brother/neighbor says he is beta testing Halo 2.. is it true?
The only people who can beta test are people who are internal workers there, there is no waiting list to play, no sign up. Only workers get this lucious opportunity. Besides, if they did beta test (assuming they work for them) they need a special adaption to the xbox and must sign a NDA (non-disclosure agreement) so if they did go braggin, there is grounds for some serious sueing goin on.
What is all this I hear about a Yellow Banshee
Ok, I could go into full detail of it's origin and so on, but I'm not. Some forum regular to a halo forum board named "Skavenger_s7" created the rumor of the Yellow Banshee to poke fun at some of the outrageous rumors out there, but little did he know his tool for fighting outlandish rumors soon became one itself. Especially cause some kid took a screenshot of a banshee and, with some actual talent and skill, colored it yellow and made it still look reasonable. Sum it up: Hoax, all of it.

On Halo PC, will there be any patches or updates like Halo 1.5?
This rumor was started by gaming sites. Bungie has never stated that they are working on such a product, and until they do, it is only rumor.
One thing Bungie did say is that creating add-ons for Halo is virtually impossible due to the way the game was designed. No 'hooks" in the engine for new material so even if Bungie wanted to make one, it is extremely unlikely.

No. It was invented by various Cheat-related sites. It has been confirmed false by Bungie.

What's with the random words that appear while gathering network games? Sleepy, Bear, Walla Walla, etc.
Each Xbox has a name, which is randomly chosen from a large selection. This name is used to identify the Xbox on the network. Some games (DOA3) allow you to change the name, Halo does not.
Where's the flamethrower in Halo? I have seen pics of it.
Yes, Halo was to have a flamethrower and due to time till release issues, they threw it out. The demo of it still has a model of him holding the flame thrower, but it doesn't exist in Halo (.....yet)
Will Halo have editors?
Halo on the Xbox will not have an editor, nor will it support add-on missions in any way. Halo for the PC/Mac might have a level editor, Bungie has stated a desire to release one. But what will happen is up in the air still, too soon to tell.
