As a nanny in the United States, I was thrilled to see so many places to take children under the age of 12. These educational places included the zoo, the park, the aquarium, the library and the Children's Museums. The weekly visits to the local Children's Museums were by far the most requested, and most enjoyed, Fun Day activity. |

Since returning to Halifax, Nova Scotia and finding work as a nanny I have been disappointed in the lack of facilities available to stay-at-home parents of children under 12. |

Trips to the park and walks are limited through the winter months, and next to impossible if childcare providers use public transportation. |
|
|
|
|
|
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a facility in the Metro Halifax area that was kid-friendly, had a safe environment and stimulated a joy of learning in everyone? |

My dream is to open a year round facility for parents and caregivers to interact with their children. |

The Children's Museum will provide a child-approved, family-oriented, hands-on facility that will foster a joy of discovery and learning in our children. The Children's Museum will provide a kid-safe environment that will allow children to explore the world around and stimulate their imagination. The Children's Museum will not only benefit the local economy of Metro Halifax but will also be the highlight of family vacations to Nova Scotia. |
