Trojans are what allows most hackers access to their victems computers. They are simple programs that are executed within another program. You recieve a trojan from an unsafe download, such as one from a Web site that is not the original creator of the program. You should only download from the original site, like www.winamp.com. Trojans are easily the most used and least detected programs. They serve many purposes, other than destruction, although many out there can destroy your hard drive. Such purposes include adding text to your .sys files, thereby changing the application forever.

Your probably wondering how trojans work. Once executed within its host program, most trojans insert some code into your start up files that will allow them to go undetected by your virus scanners. After this, when the computer is restarted, the good trojans take effect. Upon restarting, your computer will try to find the trojans. Good ones will go unnoticed. Then the trojan will be started. Trojans can do numerous tasks, including erase hard drives. They can also create back doors to your computer, send info back to the place you got the trojan from, and hide info from the infected computer. Here's a few trojans that can be downloaded:
