"LOCKS AND KEYS"
i think about madness on the sly. it's not as if i'm not concentrating on other stuff like my career. it's just that a woman's mind is like a huge gymnasium with all these connections from all over the room--joining and separating, constantly in contact with everything else. aware. whereas a guys' mind is like a house with closets. when he wants or needs to deal with something he goes into that closet and deals with the issue. when he's done, he walks out, closes and locks the door and turns towards the next door--never to return. he's done. why deal with it anymore?
but how can you lock it up? i mean it's always a part of you. it always affects you. so how can you forget it--think it's done and over? i'm not sure. and if a guy don't understand that a girl is always thinking about stuff, then he'll be mighty confused when she brings up a topic they discussed a week ago back into the conversation like it's fresh. anyhoo--i think whoever gave that example was one smart cookie. actually it's from "men are from mars, women are from venus". i remember when it was first published. you couldn't get a single copy of it! i borrowed it from the library on a seven day loan, it was that hot. even after a few months it was still on 7-day loan. but man, did it open my eyes to gals and guys. it made so much sense! it helped me to re-evaluate my dealings with folks. and it still helps me today--like with you.
