Outlands Heralds & Scribes Symposium March 25-26 Colorado Springs, Colorado
The third annual Outlands Heralds & Scribes Symposium will occur at the College of Tygre's Keep in the Barony of Dragonsspine in the Kingdom of the Outlands this coming March 25-26. Good Gentles with interests in the heraldic and scribal arts are cordially invited and welcomed to a weekend of education, with classes offered in both introductory and advanced topics. Shayk Da'ud ibn Auda, Laurel King of Arms Emeritus, will be one of our honored guest lecturers; arrangements are being made with other professors.
The event will occur in modern Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the foot of Pike's Peak and the beautiful rocky mountains, at the Colorado College near historic downtown. The city offers plenty of shopping, site-seeing, dining, and other entertainment, including galleries, museums, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and the Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra (which will be featuring a Celtic celebration, music of Copland, and a one-time-only recital with Itzhak Perlman near to the Symposium date). The site is about thirty minutes from the convenient Colorado Springs airport, and is within fifteen minutes of lodgings at a range of prices ("crash space" is also available). For those with even larger interests, Denver is only sixty miles away, and skiing in the Colorado Rocky Mountains is not far beyond.

A sumptuous feast will be offered on Saturday evening; the feast is limited to 88 persons, so please make reservations early (see below for information; reservations are not necessary if you will not be feasting). Specially dietary needs can be taken into account if we are advised early; please contact the Autocrat at your earliest convenience.
Fees (subject to change): Site, $6 per person; Feast, $7 per person; children under 10, half-price on each; teachers, half-price Site.
Driving directions: Exit Interstate 25 in Colorado Springs, CO at exit #143, Uintah Street. Head east up a small hill to a light at Cascade Avenue. Go right, and head south on Cascade onto Colorado College property. Classes are at Palmer Hall, a large red sandstone building with a green roof, at the north end of a grassy quadrangle (on your left).
