Kingdom Rapier and Dance Collegium

Oyez, oyez! Greetings to one and all. The time has
come to once again announce the upcoming Kingdom Rapier and Dance Collegium.
This is a time for all those who practice the Arte of Defense or those who
wish to learn to come together for a weekend filled with lots of fun and
interesting classes!! This year we have combined with Kingdom Dance
Collegium to provide more classes for both the warrior and courtier alike.
Some of the classes that we have lined up this year include practical and
theory classes for Rapier. Lots of classes for both the beginning and
experienced dancer alike, as well as many classes on costuming, etiquette,
period games and many more! We will also be doing a Grand Ball on Saturday evening with a slight twist to put all those newly learned skills to test. As there is no scheduled feast, there will be a listing of nearby eating
establishments with directions. On Sunday there will be more classes and a
Rapier Tournament to round out the day. This year the event will be held at
the Peoria Community Center (8335 West Jefferson Street, Peoria). Site fee
will be $7 for both days, we will also have the Rapier Collegium book of
articles this year which will be available at an optional cost of $3. Site
will open on Saturday at 9 am and close at 10 pm. On Sunday, site will open
at 9 am and close at 6 pm. The site is dry, please no pets and there is no
smoking inside of the facility. We have a limited amount of crash space
available for those traveling from out of town, please contact the Site
Autocrat for making arrangements. Also, anyone still wishing to teach a
class please contact either the Rapier or Dance Autocrats. If you have any
questions at all please feel free to contact anyone of us.
Directions: Take your best route to I-10 west and get off at 83rd Ave. Proceed North approx 8 miles until you reach Jefferson Street (2 blocks South of Grand Ave) and turn left. The community center will be on the South side of the street. There is plenty of parking available in the adjacent lot.
