A Letter to the Populace

Master Odinele and Lady Judith send greetings to the populace of Mons Tonitrus,
Should the polling go our way, and Their Majesties see fit to grant us the pleasure of serving you as Baron and Baroness; this missive is to let the Barony know of our dreams for Mons Tonitrus in the coming years. We are proud to be members of the Barony and hope to continue on the path of keeping the Barony together set by Baron Philip and Baroness Selina. In the past few years the Barony has become a close-knit family and we will strive to hold onto this feeling of camaraderie. Baron Philip and Baroness Selina have offered us their support and we plan to utilize their experience in pursuit of the dream.
One thing we would like to see is more participation at the meetings, to that end we have a suggestion for a new format. We would like to see the first meeting of the month be a gathering of the populace to bring together opinions and suggestions. The officers of the Barony would preside rather than hold a court. The second meeting would still be an A&S meeting though we would like to see the formation of guilds which could lead to more than one project per night being presented. Again there would be no need to hold court. We would like to have one court a month at our scheduled events. We would like to hear what the populace thinks of this idea.
We realize that fighting is one of the most popular aspects of the SCA, but we would like to encourage the populace to continue to hone their talents in other areas such as service, equestrian and A&S. We both enjoy these aspects of the SCA and in particular would like to see the equestrian arts grow in this Barony. We will always encourage the fighters of this Barony (hardsuit, rapier and archery) to continue to uphold the standards of chivalry and honor and would like to join them on the fighting field when we can.
Both of us enjoy the fun and closeness of this Barony and feel that it is unique to the SCA. We are both open to any and all suggestions that you would offer us to make these next few years as wonderful as the ones we now enjoy. We offer our services to the Barony and the Kingdom and feel we have much to offer Mons Tonitrus; we hope you agree.
In service to the dream we are,

             Odinele                                Judith

Master Odinele Reidleac      and  Lady Judith of Herefordshire
