DAY 2, June 2002
Both teams were then offered a RECCE TASK. ALPHA sent out 2 RECCE groups. Stinger would move alone, as a sniper, with his M24 SOCOM. 2 of the UE players made up the other group. They set off, moving carefully and observing for any trace of CHARLIE. TMA also accepted the TASK and decided to work as a 4 man patrol. Their tactics for the day would be to leave the FLAG undefended, yet hidden. With their kit spread out and well cammed, they hoped their new camp would go unnoticed. They would play as oppertunists, hoping to TASk all day. PAPABEAR was pointman with his partner, GMAN following 15m behind. Covering him was SPECTRE with PHANTOM bringing up the rear with his bolt action. Moving east from their new camp, TMA moved along the river, towards the AM/PM boundary. Crossing the field in the low ground, they kept out of sight and began to close in on the gorse bushes. SPECTRE spotted STINGER in the field 100m away and signalled the team down.

Quickly clearing the gorse, they set of west towards the trench area. Meanwhile the ALPHA recce had looked around the centre of the land and was heading back, that way. TMA changed formation into a pair of fireteams, one on each flank. SPECTRE spotted movement 50m away in the trench area and signalled the patrol down. WIZ and NUT moved within 30m and spotted 2 of TMA in the open. They went to ground. Only 1 minute remained on the TASK, so PAPABEAR guessed the co-ordinates as the TRENCHES, no points scored. ALPHA had to resort to a guess aswell. Again, they gave co-ordinates for Bear's Bunker, but were also wrong. The silence was broken by UE opening fire. G-MAN was the target, but the shots missed and he took better cover. Not wanting to be bogged down in a firefight, PAPABEAR gave the call to pull out.
SPECTRE stayed in postion, covering the retreat. Spotting movement, SPECTRE kept still. NUT was advancing towards him, not wanting to lose contact. SPECTRE knew he was not compromised and held his fire, until confident of a definite hit. Firing a single shot from his MAS, he scored a HIT. PHANTOM had seen STINGER stood at the bottom of the field 130m away and pointed him out to PAPABEAR. "Let's get him. 4 onto 1" Phantom suggested.
"OK" agreed PAPABEAR. "GO, GO, GO!" TMA burst out of the treeline and sprinted down the field. SPECTRE hung back to check the rear. Covering the open field quickly, PHANTOM closed in. STINGER saw the TMA charge and began to dash for cover. Nearing his quarry, PHANTOM suddenly realised he was pretty much alone. As TMA had spread out, covering the flanks. Stopping for a shot, just before Stinger reached cover. "HIT!" TMA quickly regrouped and set off west, not wanting to be around when STINGER rejoined the game. The MARSHALS contacted TMA asking them if they wanted RAZER as a reinforcement. Quickly deciding that they would be better off, as a 4 man team, they declined.
