Guild of Eternal Night

Creation of the World: Year -10,000:
The Night Elves emerged in Kalimdor. Throughout their existence they have meddled with primitive magic, but not always with great success; in fact, through their attempts they accidentally let loose the demonic Burning Legion upon the world of Azeroth. The result is a massive war between the Night Elves and burning demons, in which the Night Elves are forced to form an alliance with the ancestral Dragons, which results in an apocalyptic conflict. Much of the continent of Kalimdor is devastated and sinks under the Great Sea. Although the Burning Legion killed most of the Night Elves, the ones that survived vowed never again to use the ancient magic. The world tree Nordrassil is created by the Dragons, and the Druids enter their slumber.

    Year -6,000:
Unwilling to live without magic, a rogue band of Night Elves is banished from Kalimdor. They travel to the newly formed Eastern lands where they create the kingdom of Quel'Thalas and develop a new society we now refer to as High Elves.
