Description
This is the ancient spider kingdom that ruled Northrend before the rise of the Lich King. The ruins of the capital lie deep underground just south of the Icecrown Glacier. Once the Nerubians were defeated by the undead, the survivors fled into the ruins to plot their guerrilla war. As a result, the Scourge rarely go there, though the re-emergence of the Forgotten Ones makes the ruins of Azjol-Nerub treacherous for Nerubian and undead alike.

Azjol-Nerub stretches for hundreds of miles beneath the frozen earth of Northrend, but the capital city itself is located directly south of the Icecrown Glacier.

Description
The Icecrown Glacier is the largest glacier in Azeroth. The name of Icecrown became infamous when Kil'jaeden hurled the Lich King back into the mortal world. Ner'zhul's prison slammed into the glacier, creating the Frozen Throne. Here the Lich King remained until Arthas freed him and the two beings merged in Arthas' body. The merging created such a large explosion that most of the glacier was blown away, leaving a gigantic throne in its place, upon which sits the Lich King. From here he rules the Scourge with an iron fist. The glacier may be gone, but Icecrown remains.
Geography
Icecrown is located in the center of Northrend, protected from outside threats by the natural terrain and the limitless numbers of the Scourge.
Inhabitants
Icecrown is currently inhabited by the Lich King himself, as well as a small number of his most elite forces. A small group of blue dragons, led by Malygos, also remains here to guard the Dragonblight.
