| Vrijdag 26 December. In Nederland is het Tweede Kerstdag, maar hier is het feest al voorbij. Echter, samen met Janneke en drie honden (Max en zijn ouders) ga ik lekker zes dagen naar de kust! Angela en Vanessa, twee dochters van Luisa met wie ik ook Kerst heb gevierd, reizen gezellig mee. We kozen voor de langere maar schijnbaar mooiere route naar de kust door de Ca�on del Pato. Dat is een kloof met 49 tunnels, en het punt waar de gebergtes Cordillera Negra en Cordillera Blanca bij elkaar komen. Een machtige kloof, op het smalste punt maar vier meter breed! De rivier die door het hele dal stroomt (en dus ook langs Huaraz) heet de R�o Santa, en nu hebben we deze dus vanaf meer dan 3000 meter hoogte tot helemaal aan zeeniveau gevolgd. De tocht was inderdaad spectaculair, grillige rotswanden aan weerszijden, en de kloof was echt heel erg diep. Niemand had teveel gezegd: dit is �cht heel erg speciaal. |

| Friday the 26th of December. While in Holland people were still celebrating the Second Christmas Day, I left for the coast! Together with Janneke and three dogs (my Max and his parents) and with Vanessa and Angela, two daughters of the family with which I passed Christmas. We chose the route through the Ca�on del Pato, which meant that we would follow the R�o Santa from Huaraz, all the way downstream to the coast. The canyon through which the R�o Santa made its way was spectacular. Very high and very small, with 49 tunnels to drive through. No one had said too much: this was really amazing. |

| Seixta-feira, 26 de Dezembro. Na Holanda a gente ainda estava celebrando o Segundo Dia de Natal, mas eu parti para a costa. Junto com a Janneke e tr�s c�es (meu Max e seus pais) e com Vanessa e Angela, duas filhas duma familia com a qual eu passei o Natal. Escolhimos a ruta pelo Ca�on del Pato, o que significa que seguimos o R�o Santa todo o tempo at� � costa. Este "ca�on" realmente era espectacular: muito profundo e muito estreito, com 49 t�neis para passar. Ningu�m disse demais: esta ruta era fant�stica! |

| Viernes 26 de Diciembre. Mientras que los holandeses estaban celebrando el Segundo D�a de Navidad, yo parti a la costa peruana. Con Janneke y tres perros (mi Max y sus pap�s), y con Vanessa y Angela, dos hijas de la familia con la cual pas� Navidad. Escogimos la ruta por el Ca�on del Pato, porque muuucha gente me habia dicho que esta ruta es espectacular. Bajando a la costa junto con el R�o Santa, de verdad vimos todo el paisaje cambiar. En el pr�pio Ca�on era algo fant�stico. Parades alt�simas de rocas, el r�o bien m�s abajo, �lindo! �Y hemos contado 49 t�neles! Nadie dij� demasiado: �El Ca�on del Pato es lo mejor! |
