The Written Word � When it comes to wording your invitations there are a number of choices out there to work with, from traditional to anything you can dream up. The roles of the families, specifically the parents of the bride & groom, can affect the way in which you word your invitations. |

1. One or Both sets of Parents are hosting�
Mr. and Mrs. John Jones And Mr. and Mrs. John Smith Request the honor of your presence At the marriage of their children Or more casual . . . It is with great pleasure We invite you to The joining of our two families |
| 2. If it is just one set of Parents is hosting �
Mr. and Mrs. John Jones Request the pleasure of your company At the marriage of their daughter (or son) Or more casual . . . Mr. and Mrs. John Smith Would be honored to have you join them At the marriage of their daughter (or son) Or if the hosting parents are divorced � Mr. John Smith And Ms. Joan Doe Request the pleasure of you company At the marriage of their daughter (or son) |

| Some other things to consider when wording an invitation, Is there a separate reception location to add to the invitation or is everything happening at one location? Will you be including RSVP info on the invitation or will you have separate RSVP cards? Will you be having a small family only ceremony but a large reception?

| Don�t be afraid to make a statement with your invitations. If you are known for being a comedic couple, then go ahead and word your invitation like a Dr. Seuss poem. Anything goes. |
