GUESS (Griffith University Gold Coast Environmental Students Society) and EAS are planning a Careers Night in Mid October 2004 here at the Gold Coast Campus. The Careers Night will provide EAS students with a first hand look at the diversity of career directions and work opportunities that your study can lead to. You will also get the chance to talk with people who have "been there and done that". People who can tell you how they did it and what you need to do to get where you want to go. It would also be useful for those of you who are not quite sure what you want to do when you finish. Come and see the broad range of careers that are available to you. There will be two parts to the evening. Part one will consist of presentations by people with environmental careers. They will talk for about 3 - 4 minutes about (1) who they are, Part two of the evening will be a casual breakout session so that you can talk with presenters about more specific issues of interest to you. We are planning to invite up to 20 speakers from a range of environmental backgrounds. The first part of the evening should last about an hour and a half. Part two should last about one hour.
We want this to be relevant for you. So if you want to see anyone, or any area in particular, let us know and we will try and find someone. Send us an e-mail about who you would like at the Careers Night and we'll see what we can do. Suggestions and recommendations on any part of this evening are welcome, so please contact Andrew Growcock - [email protected]Or James Webley - [email protected] |
