1) You have an amazing screen image, From what did you derive the Anglin Method (What Tv Show and/or Movie Kicked off your interest ?)

Thanks for the compliment. Flattery will get you everywhere with me. The "Anglin Method" I guess is a mish-mash of every acting method on earth. I'm classically trained in traditional theater and studied the acting techniques of Uta Hagen and Stanislavsky. I studied improv comedy for two years a The Second City and read everything I could get my hands on to develop a lot of different acting tools. What kicked off my interest?
I can remember being six years old and someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up? My answer was 'I want to be on TV'. After a dozen different careers, I'm finally realizing that childhood dream.
2) Okay, In between Shooting Zombies and kicking Gorilla Ass, Do you read books or listen to CDs ? What ?

Shooting Zombies and kicking gorilla ass is total escapism for me. I have two daughters 9 and 7 who demand every free minute I have. I go to the gym or run for a little stress relief and I'm trying to teach myself to play the guitar. Pretty boring for a zombie killer, huh?
3) I hate to ask this of a guy who plays mostly SOBs,On the set of say a movie like KING OF THE LOST WORLD, Would cast/crew say is the BEST thing about The Chriss ?

I don't always play SOB's. Sometimes I'm the friendly dad next door. But, playing sadistic prison guards or a maniacal tribal leaders are more fun. I try to be fun on the set usually cracking jokes at mine or my characters expense. So, I hope they say I'm fun to work with. In "King of the Lost World" I had a lot of time in between takes and I was in full body makeup. So, imagine 'Olo' singing Jimmy Buffet or doing his best Bill Clinton impression. I like to goof off.
4) Hate to go there, But, Some might not think you are acting when you're in THAT mode; So-What would be the WORST thing about you ?

Wow, that's a hard question. I might have to lie. I've had jobs that required me to be a jerk at times, but that's really not me. I like to think I'm laid back and kind of happy go lucky. The worst thing, huh? I can't say say. You'll have to ask my ex-wife. She has an infinite list of worst things about me.
5) Why the double SS in your name ?

The Double 'S' is a fun story. I was named after my grandpa Chriss Anglin. When Grandpa was born in 1915, my great-grandfather wanted to name him Christopher. But, as an Irish coal miner in the hills of Kentucky, he couldn't spell Christopher. So, when he filled out the birth certificate he wrote Chriss thinking he needed to add the extra 's' like with 'kiss' or 'miss'. When I was born, mom and dad spelled my name the same way.
6) Any personal quirk, and or habit ? That we can quote on the internet ?

I think of my life as one big quirk. It's kind of hard to narrow it down to just one or two. Here's one. I heckle the television. Why? Because, most network programing is populated with morons. My favorites to scream at are the idiots on Dr. Phil and all the other stupid ass talk show (except Oprah. I love Oprah). And, the network news is my other favorite to despise. 7) Okay, Here is your chance to expose your philosophy,Any last words ?

My philosophy is pretty simple. I try to be good to everyone. That whole 'Love thy neighbor' 'do unto others as you would have them do unto ' thing really works. I also try to live every day like it might be my last. Life is just too short, we should really try to enjoy it.

1) Your style is kind of laid-back kewl, What TV show or Movie inspired you to pursue acting (Animal House and Babylon 5 are disqualified)?

I just saw Animal house for the first time last year. My parents wouldn't let me watch it when it first came out, actually thats not true, I saw the TV version about 100 times but still, that wasn't my inspiration, niether was Babylon 5. I 've never been a big fan of Science Fiction television except for the Twilight Zone. I never even saw the episodes of Babylon 5 that I did. Stand by me, Raiders of the Lost Arc. My nickname was Indiana Griff when I was younger cause you could always find me swinging from things with my whip from Universal Studios in hand or preforming stunt shows for the other kids in the neighbor hood in my backyard. I still have the whip, I'm very big into S&M now.
2) You were in a prison flick .So, You're behind bars and listen to what CD ? Read what book between scenes ?

I only get one Cd, thats a tuff one, let me have 2. Elvis & Sublime. I just read the DaVinci code. Great F'ing book.
3) Why, Would we assume you get in trouble On Set ?

I don't get in trouble, If someones being a sour-puss on set( ie. grumpy make up artist, ect.) I try to wake them up, sometimes my efforts are not appreciated , but fuck em. They have a good job, they should be happy, right?
Somebody must say something GOOD about you, What would the fly-on-the-wall hear ?

Ask the fly.
4) That same fly might hear something BAD, What would you assume was said ?

I wouldn't begin to guess or care. There are few peoples opinions I care about, and the fly isn't one of them.
5) So, You must relax, Sometime LOL. What is the Furst-way to come down from set pressures ?

Oh, I've always loved a drink or six after work, but I'm in the process of changing my evil ways. I'm getting old, the liver isn't as sassy as it used to be. I love a cigarrette when I get off work, and I have a girlfriend now, so sex is readily available, that not only calms me down, but puts me right to sleep.

I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT I AM JUST GETTING STARTED NOW. ALTHOUGH, "CEREBRAL PRINT: THE SECRET FILES" WAS BIG FOR ME, ALL THE OTHER STUFF WAS JUST A PRECURSOR TO THE GENRE STUFF I WANT TO DO FOR AS LONG AS I CAN. IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT A "JOURNEY" BEING KICKED OFF...I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT IT IS THE CURSE OF LIZZIE BORDEN. I AM REALLY LOVING DIRECTING IT AND ALL THE ACTORS ARE SO WONDERFUL THAT I DON'T MIND THE 20 HOUR DAYS AT ALL. LIZZIE BORDEN IS THE BEGINNING OF MY JOURNEY. AS FAR AS BOOKS GO, I SIMPLY HAVE BECOME A SLAVE TO THE INTERNET. I READ ALL MY NEWS ONLINE AND I TOUCH BASE WITH PEOPLE ONLINE. I AM EASIEST TO REACH THROUGH "MYSPACE.COM" OR MY COMPANY EMAIL. I AM NOT READING ANY BOOKS RIGHT NOW. I READ SCRIPTS INSTEAD. I HAVE JUDGED A COUPLE OF SCREENPLAY COMPETITIONS AND BEEN HOOKED EVER SINCE. THE PEOPLE ON THE SET ALWAYS SAY I AM VERY EASY GOING AND PATIENT. THEY LOVE TO SAY HOW I ALWAYS GIVE EVERYONE TIME ENOUGH TO REALLY CRAFT A PERFORMANCE. EVEN LAST WEEKEND WHEN I SHOT 28 PAGES IN ONE DAY. BIZARRE. ON THE WEB SERIES I AM DIRECTING NOW CALLED "THE WRIGHT STUFF" WE ARE SHOOTING A HALF A PAGE A DAY.
4) On those same sets, What would be the WORST things about you ?

THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT HOW I OVERSHOOT MY COVERAGE. THEY SAY IT BOTHERS THEM BECAUSE I SHOOT EVERYTHING FROM EVERY ANGLE. THEY DON'T SAY IT IS A BAD THING, BUT THEY SAY I NEED TO IMPROVE UPON IT.
5) You write, direct and act,But, Can you relax ? How ?

I LOVE CARS AND TRAVELLING. I TAKE TRIPS BACK TO A PLACE I HAVE IN SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO. IT IS A 100 ACRE RANCH WITH NO RUNNING WATER OR ELECTRICITY. MY UNCLE AND I HANG OUT THERE AND COME UP WITH INTERESTING STORY IDEAS WE CAN GET TOGETHER AND SHOOT. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING BACK THERE AFTER THE NEW YEAR.

I AM EVEN MORE DISTRUSTFUL OF EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD THAT ALLOW THE TRAIN TO STAY ON THE PATH IT IS GOING JUST BECAUSE OF ALL THE WORK IT TAKES TO STEER IT IN A BETTER DIRECTION. YOU HAVE HIT ON A REAL BUTTON HERE....DO YOU REALLY WANT ME TO GO INTO IT? IF SO, READ ON...THE WAR IS NOT THE FAULT OF THE PRESIDENT, IT IS THE FAULT OF THE PRESIDENT, THE CONGRESS, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, AND THE REST OF THE WORLD THAT DIDN'T STAND UP AND SAY, "ENOUGH!". 1) Felissa, This is a thrill to interview you. Besides the huge "Sleepaway Camp" following, some of your new movies-Evil Ever After and Slaughter Party seemed cult-status nominees. What TV Show or Movie started you on your journey of Horror Icon ?

I guess "Sleepaway Camp", right?? That seems to be the one horror fans remember. It's the oldest film but an ending that seems to be pretty original.
2) I think you might be the last of Original Scream Queens, So Do you have time to read a BOOK ? Or listen to a CD, on set ?

Yes, I ususally have a lot of time and I'm always listening to CKY. Great band, so go check out their new album, "An Answer Can Be Found."
3) You must be great to work with, Because you are working a LOT,What would cast and/or crew say is the BEST thang about "The Rose"?

hahahaaha That there's always a party in my room! You can say that I like to have fun and usually start a good game of truth or dare! I know, pretty juvenille, but still a blast!

My room is always loud and causes people to get no sleep! Or that I speak my mind which can make some folks uncomfortable.

This Native Houstonian was born knowing two things- she was destined to become an actress, and she had a borderline-unhealthy obsession with horror films. One of the first movies she ever watched was Rosemary's Baby, and her first love was Frank Langella in the 1979 film, Dracula. She watched that movie religiously from ages 3-6, and knew if she couldn't be a vampire in real life, one day she would play out her dark fantasies through film. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Theatre and Dance, Danielle relocated to L.A., where she continued her training at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Hollywood. Since then, she had acted in several plays and commercials as well as various independent films.COLB is her first full-length feature film, and hopes this is just the first step in the mysterious world of blood and gore.

1) Danielle you've hinted that Horror-Westerns fascinate you ( and that's GUESTAR niche)..So, Do you have a favorite Horror ? Western ? Tv or Movie ?

The idea of meshing horror and western genres together is intriguing. I grew up OBSESSED with horror films, and watched TV shows like, Tales from the Darkside, Tales from the Crypt, and the Friday the 13th series. A few of my favorite horror films are The Shining, Rosemary's Baby, Psycho, Carrie, The Birds, Jaws, April Fool's Day, May, An American Werewolf in London, Evil Dead (1&2), Friday the 13th, and Halloween. I love too many to name them all!!! Blazing Saddles, Unforgiven, and Dead Man have to be my top three favorite westerns in the forefront of my mind. I'd love to see a historically accurate western story twisted into something horrifyingly evil. It would be the best of both worlds rolled into one!
2) Being The New LIZZIE BORDEN (Elizabeth Montgomery from 'Bewitched' played her in 1975) must be a lot of pressure, What BOOK or CD helps you on set ?

In the few free moments I had during our 13-17 hour shooting days, I would listen to the new Nine Inch Nails album ('With Teeth') on my ipod to keep me focused. There's something so erotically-macabre about Trent Reznor's music. It's gothic tone makes me giddy with lust, and at the same time, I hunger for the disturbing, demented satisfaction of bludgeoning another human to death.
3) Now,I could ask FORD AUSTIN(Evil Ever After) your director on COLB,But,On the set what is the BEST thing about you ?

I would have to say, the BEST thing about me on the set would have to be my professionalism. I take acting very seriously, engrossing myself in the character fully and unconditionally, and I do whatever it takes to sculpt my character into someone the audience can live through vicariously, if only from the safety of their own sofas.

4) ...Being a former member of the Super Model Bikini Team, What is the WORST thing about you ?

Being a former member of the Super Model Bikini Team is the WORST thing about me!!! I'm kidding- actually, my extreme professionalism can get me into trouble from time to time.That, and the fact I am a huge klutz. A couple of times on the set of COLB, I was so consumed with my character, I accidentally "grazed" one of my co-stars with an axe. And, yes, it was more than just a love tap. The axe was just made of wood, but had he not been jumping away from it at the time, it could have caused some major internal damage. Another time, without warning, I slapped the same co-star so hard in the face, his eyes welled up with tears, and his cheek was red for hours. In my defense, it WAS written in the script. The poor thing had to endure it more than once, but he was a good sport about it. I would have done the same, had the roles been reversed. I'm not a sado-masochistic bitch by any means- I just want the final product to be the best it can be. Sometimes that means enduring a little pain if you're around me.
5) After a busy day of hacking your parents to death (On Set ?),How do you relax ?

After a busy day of hacking my parents (and virtually anyone who crosses my path) to death, I like to soak in a hot tub filled with bubbles and slowly melt away the blood stains I've accrued throughout the day. --- Actually, I wish it was that glamorous, but I spend most of my time playing Lady Macbeth with a loofah, than I do getting R & R.
6) We realize your career has just taken off and tabloids will use the following information when you become headlines...Soooo, Any personal quirk or habit we can quote ? Do I have any personal quirks or habits?

Hmmmmm..... Nothing too freaky- I do flare my nostrils when I laugh too hard (it looks like I'm about to take flight). I don't know, you might have to ask Ford that one.
7) Besides wanting it be easier for your fans to find you on internet...Any Last Words ???

Curse of Lizzie Borden was a dream come true for this little closet-goth chick from Texas. I seriously couldn't have wished for a more amazing cast, crew, or producer, and the director is my personal hero. Not only did he rescue me from "the actor's Catch-22", but he is an actor's director, and an incredible multi-tasker. He is this film's miracle, and anyone in this industry would be lucky to work with him. Oh- and one more thing- Playing a twisted, psychotic, deranged lunatic was one of the best experiences I've ever had- hopefully I'll be able to fulfill my new-found fetish in future projects!!!

Probably the movie "Sample People" with Kylie Minogue back in Australia. It got me thorugh a lot of doors early on.

A little bit of both, I love escapism. But to be honest I'm usually just talking , hanging out and goofing off with everyone on set.

I sleep my arse off.

1) Scott,Thanks for letting us do this interview with The Asylum's blessing. A-In the past what TV show inspired you to try acting ?

- When I was in my teens, I watched a ton of THE HULK, GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, MUNSTERS, ADDAM'S FAMILY, BEWITCHED, WONDER WOMAN (HUGE crush on Linda Carter - "Wonder Woman makes me feel... funny.") and I DREAM OF JEANIE. But, it was Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman's performances (pick any one) that made me want to act.

B- Is there a movie that you first got fired up by ?

STAR WARS - no question. I saw that movie 31 times in the movie theatre.

2) Actors must get a chance to read and listen, Favorite book ?

Right now my favorite book is THE POWER OF NOW by Eckhart Tolle.

3) Mr. Carson,What's the best thing about you, If we asked anyone on your sets ?

Okay - let me put my conceited hat on...I would hope people would think of me as a friend. You spend so much time together - so much boring time on a set, that having someone to really talk to, makes the experience even more enjoyable.

4) So...This question had to arise,What is the worst thing about you ?

Dang! Well, I would say that I expect a lot from my fellow actors. I have no patience for lack of preparation. An actor's job is to be totally prepared, emotionally, physically, and lastly, at LEAST have your lines memorized.

5) How do you relax (This is only for the INTERNET) ?

Video games, baby - Video games!

6) Any personal quirk or habit,That your fans might NEED to know?

I hate it when someone crosses a crosswalk when the sign says "Don't Walk" - drives me friggin nuts.

7) Scott, Your last words to the fans?

If you ever see me on the street - ALWAYS say "Hey haven't I seen you in something..." Unless you are Tom Cruise, or Johnny Depp, you just don't know if anyone is really watching your movies. It feels great to actually meet a fan.

*8) Give us some juicy bits about DEAD MEN WALKING?

The director, Peter Mervis, is such a normal guy that the first day of shooting he told me that they weren't going to be able to use me. I turned to him and said "well, don't you want to go and ask the director before letting me go?" (I assumed he was a PA or something) He said "ummm, I am the director." DOH!

*9) Horror/Western DEATH VALLEY-BLOODY BILL ?

There is a scene in the movie where I am attacked by a random zombie and we had all these extras as zombies, and the director was just pulling random people to attack us. Some where good and some where... not very experienced in the ways of a zombie. Anyway, the director pulls this guy to be my "zombie attacker" and he was friggin great. He says to the director "hey can I jump down from this ledge and attack him" He was really into it. Needless to say, there was no acting required when this guys jumps down in full zombie makeup!

*10) The cult film KILLERS?

One of the first days of shooting was my death scene where Paul Logan takes a bathroom stall door and bashes my head in with it. Well, the director - Mr. David Latt - kept saying "can you move closer - can you swing the door harder - can you just move more to your left" and BAM! Paul hits me in the head - full force with the door and I drop onto the floor. (Mind you this was a REAL abandon wherehouse... with real rat poop... and pee.) Paul and I have been best friends ever since.

Brad was born in Glascow, Montana and attended Montana State University where he met the Burk Brothers and shortly thereafter formed, Tri-Toad Films. He's reviewed movies for his hometown paper, "The Missoulian", "Keci-TV" and hosted the public access show, "The Big Picture", which was a constant tribute to low-budget movies. He's written and directed several horror and comedy films including the features, "The Van", "Jading D.T. Jameson", and "Eugene Vs. the Mob". Most recently, Brad co-wrote, "The Bloodstained Bride".

1) Brad, Your sense of humor, is well Different-What TV show and/or Movie could have lead you down this road of, Uh Humor?

"Strange Brew" was one of the big ones. The fact that the movie's finale featured a beer-guzzling flying dog painted like a skunk really did something for me. In high school I discovered "USA Up All Night" and fell in love with all the classic Fred Olen Ray and David DeCauteau movies ("Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers", "Sorority Babes in the Slimebowl Bowl-o-rama", etc.) In college it was the Italian horror movies (The Beyond, Susperia, etc.). Also around that time I discovered and became a big fan of, "Fear of A Black Hat". Ever since then I've alway been interested in material that was always weird and/or different. Micro-cinema heroes like, J.R. Bookwalter, Robert Rodriguez and Kevin Smith have also been a big influence.

2) From your past, or currently what's the favorite book/ manual, Throw us a bone with your favorite CD too

Edward Lee is a madman. His books are a highly addictive read. "City Infernal" is fantastic. A must read for horror fans. "The Girl Next Door" and "The Lost" disturbed the hell out of me. Jack Ketchum's books are so effective because they're about what's really scary: the human monster. Joe Landale ranks very high with me. "The Drive-In" is one of my all time favorite books. Reading Lansdale is a real treat for the cult movie enthusiast. As for music: Alice Cooper, eighties metal and cheesy-ass rock ballads (Cinderella's, "Coming Home" is the best). Oldies, (especially doo-wop), outlaw country (especially the hard-boozing songs of David Alan Coe and Merl Haggard), AC-DC and Manowar. Old school NWA and midget rapper, Bushwick Bill. My favorite CD is Guns and Roses', "Appetite For Destruction". It just plain kicks ass on all levels.

3) What would your acting friends say the BEST thang about Paulson is ?

I let them drink on the set.

1) You are the youngest in a long line of TALL ACTORS(Richard Kiel,Andre The Giant & Carel Struycken)...Is there a movie and/or TV show that said to ROGER ,I want to do this ?

I guess the first movie that made me think I was crazy enough to get into acting was actually my first acting job. Growing up in a very small town it never even crossed my mind to get into the film business let alone as an actor. My high school didn't even have a dramatic arts program when I was there so there wasn't really any way to experience acting. I did eventually go to school for music and video production but with the goal to become a recording engineer in the music industry. While attending school I did a few interenships on the sets of various productions around the city of Miami, where the school was located, and found I enjoyed the behind the scenes work I was doing. It was through this work behind the camera that I met a producer/director that was starting up a new film in Miami. I went in to the production office to submit my resume as an electrician for their film when the director saw me and said he though I would make a great bad guy for his film due to my height. I thought he was joking and didn't give it a second thought until I received a call from them a month later and they wanted to offer me a part in the film. I reluctantly agreed to do the part as long as they would use me as an electrician on my days off so that I could get the credit on my resume. After getting through the first few rehearsals I found that I enjoyed the experience and decided to pursue the acting side and see what happened... Fifteen years and many, many auditions later here I am, still a struggling actor but I love it.
2) What books are in the Morrissey library ?,Any CDs that a Big Man can hum or dance to ?

I tend to read the action/adventure novels with Clive Cussler being my favorite author. A couple of others are Michael Crighton, Dale Brown and Tom Clancy. I guess I also have to admit that I truly enjoyed all of the Harry Potter books so far and am looking forward to the next one. As for music, my tastes are varied though I usually listen to the local country station on the radio in my truck. My CD collection has everything from Ozzy Osbourne to Enya. You can also call me a "Parrothead".... Anyone know what that means? By the way, this "Big Man" don't dance!
3) I'm sure people are intimidated by you,BUT,When they catch their breath what would they say is the BEST thing about Roger ?

I would have to say the best thing about me is I don't care if others are intimidated by me. What I mean by this is that I have reached a point where I know who I am and don't put a lot of stock in what other people think/say about me. People will always form their own opinions whether or not they even know who you are. I am not going to let it bother me and if you were willing to take the time to get to know me as my real friends and family have you would probably find yourself not even noticing my height anymore and becoming more offended by what you overhear people say around me then I do myself.
4) OF course,The natural follow-up question,They may whisper behind you...What's the WORST thing about Morrissey ?

Depending upon who you ask there are lots of bad things about me....
5)There must be special arrangements for you to relax,WHAT situation/items would do it ?

Not sure there really need to be "special arrangements", I am a pretty relaxed person by nature. It takes a special arrangement to get me not to relax! Given the choice though I guess a nice hike in the mountains with my two dogs can be pretty relaxing.
6)Any personal quirk and/or habit we can quote on the INTERNET ?

7)Roger,Here is your chance to talk to your public with opinions from the mind of Morrissey...What needs to be said as we leave ?

My opinions are just that, mine. I think everyone is entitled to form their own opinions about things, whether it be about me or about anything, each person need to decide for themself how they feel about something. Too many people form their opinions based on what other people say and are afraid to voice their own, true opinion, which I find sad. I guess there are many who are afraid to take a chance and think someone is going to tell them they are wrong. Take a chance, say what you feel!

1) The movie & tv show that inspired Ronald ?

There are so many! My first favorite movie was KING KONG, and it's still way up there. Can't wait to see the remake, but if anyone other than Peter Jackson had made it, I would be full of dread. For TV shows, there is only one -- DARK SHADOWS. The most amazing thing ever on television. I was into Star Trek in first run, and a big fan of Next Generation, but nothing like the excitement and inspiration I still get from watching that old soap opera DARK SHADOWS. The only show that ever came close for me was BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, which had the slyest sense of humor of any show I can remember. Current shows I like are almost all animated: THE SIMPSONS, KING OF THE HILL and the brilliant HBO series ROME. My tastes are pretty diverse, and other top ten movies would include CHIMES AT MIDNIGHT, FREAKS, THE SEARCHERS, CITY LIGHTS and of course CITIZEN KANE. Orson Welles is my idol, I find him and his work endlessly fascinating.

2) What's the last book you read/Last CD you heard ?

I stopped buying CDs when I turned 40. Music today just doesn't interest me for the most part. I bought the last Bob Dylan CD when it came out like 3 years back. It was good, but didn't have the fire of the old Bob. Favorite record of all time would be Dylan's BLOOD ON THE TRACKS, closely followed by Neil Young's HARVEST. The last book I read was IT CAME FROM BOB'S BASEMENT, a personal tour of Bob Burn's collection and career by the great man himself. It was great!

3) What would those on the set of TIKI, say is GOOD about RF ?

You'd have to ask them of course, but I think they all had a good time and found my set relaxed and fun, in spite of the hectic pace. We all got along great, most of the cast I had acted with before in ROCKY HORROR and other plays, so we were friends already. I gave the actors the freedom to develop their own characters, I know they liked that. They were all thrilled to be a part of it, and everyone was really cooperative and supportive.

4) The obvious follow-up query, What would your cast & crew on TIKI think is BAD about RF ?

That I should have showered more often. No, really the one thing I can think of is that the actors and effects folks often wanted more time and more takes that I couldn't give them. Staying on schedule is always my imperative with small budget movies, and that's just the nature of the game at this level

5) HOW do you relax, Its NOT like this will be GOOGLED ?

In front of the tube like everyone else. A little SIMPSONS or some good movie. Occasionally mixed with a little Mike's Hard or what not. I like to go to movies also, and to plays. I'm pretty active in theater

6) Any personal habit or quirk we can quote ?

I try to spend some time every day playing with my cats. Shoot me, I love cats.

7) Any last words, Consider this your SOAPBOX moment ?

I just love making movies and acting on the stage. I have been lucky enough to make a living at those things for the last few years. Getting paid to do what you love -- at the risk of sounding cliched -- is the greatest satisfaction.

Some more questions concerning TIKI, the movie

a) Was FRED OLEN RAY, a constant feedback source ?

Not constant, but he got the footage each week and he was never shy about expressing his opinion if something needed improving. Otherwise he left us alone. All of his criticisms were on the money though, and only served to make a better movie.

b) There is already a concern of CHARLES BAND type of movie, Do you see the comparison---Good or Bad ?

The storyline is more realistic in tone than the Band films, with less humor. It is very different. But there are a lot of puppet effects, and just by having a tiny creature you already are inviting comparisons to Band. But I hope we also remind people of TRILOGY OF TERROR, the Zuni fetish doll segment of the old Dan Curtis TV movie. That was really more of an inspiration to me than PUPPETMASTER. The comparisons to Band are welcome, though, since those movies made a lot of money for Charlie.

c) Are you sorry that a Karen Black (Trilogy Of Terror-Voodoo Doll segment) or Jeffrey Combs (Lots of CB/FOR movies) type name is not attached ?

Sure, a name would have made it even more marketable and more noticeable. However, this movie is cast with a fine ensemble of talented and experienced actors. On a whole, I'd say it's the best acted movie I have made yet.

d) The trailer is already available and FOR has said TIKI will go to AFM, good news ?

We won't know till after AFM, but I think it will do well. The trailer rocks.

e) Why a TIKI in Spokane, Washington ?

It's where I live now, and we didn't have the budget to shoot in Hawaii. The story tells of a girl who moves from Hawaii to the mythical town of Brayton, Washington to attend drama school. Her Hawaiian aunt Maylea slips the Tiki into her suitcase for protection. That's how he gets here.

f) Our 13th and last question,Closing thoughts about your comeback movie ?

I was afraid my move to Washington from LA (done for family considerations, not career ones) would kill my film making life. But then Fred Olen Ray decided to start producing again, and I can't believe I was chosen to do the first. I can't say how grateful I am to Fred for the opportunity. He's an honest, down to earth guy, and I can't tell you how rare that is in a producer. I look forward to hopefully making a lot more movies for him in the future!

Baby-boomer/monster kid, born in '52 in the last month of the Truman Administration; lived through the 50's admiring J. Edgar Hoover, Dick Tracy and Herbert Philbrick (I still like Dick Tracy); eldest of 4 kids; grew up in Portland, Oregon, occasionally California & Washington; knew early on I wanted to write and make movies; first monster movie, ABBOTT & COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN on TV circa 1959; read comics voraciously, encouraged by my mother; loved drawing, reading, kickball; traumatized by JFK assassination; saw RFK 6 days before he was killed; voluntarily lost my virginity to an older woman (she was 17, I was 16); drafted at 19 so I fooled 'em and enlisted, served in Germany as a medic; tried like hell to get into theater, newspapers, film & TV while there and never could; college on the GI Bill at Portland State University (made the Dean's List but nobody seemed to care), Cal State University Northridge, LA Pierce College; AA only, still 12 units shy of BA; first screenwriting gig in 1976 ($350 a week for 5 weeks!); wrote celebrity interviews & humor for magazines and newspapers, (OUI Magazine, NATIONAL LAMPOON, etc.); edited men's mags like HUSTLER and CHIC; co-wrote scripts for SGT. 1) Out of all your projects, What is your favorite and why ?

Jesus, what a dumb question!!!! Which one of your children is the best? Which one is the prettiest? Which one is the smartest? Which one would you save if they were all going to die? Arrgghhhh!
Well, it's really an obvious question, so I'll respond with a hoary old answer: the next one.
Or ones.
I'm currently writing two screenplays with writer/actress Brinke Stevens, with whom I've been partnered in all sorts of ways over the years.
First is a new Sinbad adventure script, which we're writing with Ray Harryhausen.
Second is a dramatization of a really weird week-long experience she had in the company of Frederico Fellini twenty years ago, when the director came to California looking for Carlos Castaneda and spiritual enlightenment, not necessarily in that order. And in what little time is left (what with her gallivanting all over the country to conventions & screaming for a living), we're shooting a screwball romantic comedy, which is about halfway done.
Professionally speaking, I do have ugly children and a few stupid ones and a couple I'm not even sure I fathered (no flesh and blood ones.) But each child has their own specialness, their own quirks, and their own little disappointments.
SPIDER-MAN in '85 was such a major deal for both me and then-partner John Brancato. We pushed to get the assignment, got it, everybody loved our script-then we were booted. Welcome to Hollywood.
LOOK BACK IN ANGORA I loved doing, I loved the idea that Rhino got it out intentionally right on time to coast on the publicity for the Tim Burton film; but I wish we would've had the money for better clips and a better sound mix.
FLESH & BLOOD was a drawn-out process but most people seem happy with the result, and I'll always be proud of at least one part of the accomplishment-I put Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee together for the last time. That, and the BBC broadcast of the show made the cover of the TV TIMES, the UK equivalent to TV Guide.
And THE NAKED MONSTER, of course. I guess maybe that's my favorite baby, though some might consider it the runt of the litter. I literally spent 20 years on this-well, off and on. I got to do things I never thought I'd do, and truthfully never want to have to do again. I got to make a giant-monster sc-fi comedy with Kenneth Tobey. That, to me, was like making a Western with John Wayne or a swashbuckler with Errol Flynn. Plus the rest of the cast-my heroes, my friends. Out of financial necessity I had to edit the whole thing myself (quite intricate, considering it runs 104 minutes and there's probably not a cut in it longer than 4 seconds), design the effects, etc.

2) With your multi-faceted career, some book or cd has changed you - Name it /Them?

(CD? Jesus. They called them "records" when I was a kid, sheesh! Geezer City!)
THE UNOFFICIAL NFL PLAYERS HANDBOOK by Ted Newsom & John Brancato, with Bob Chandler. Nothing like having your name on a book and getting reviewed in People Magazine and doing radio promo interviews to remind yourself you're actually a writer.

GEMS FROM THE EQUINOX by Aliester Crowley, edited by Israel Regardie. This is a collection of Crowley's writings from his periodical THE EQUINOX, published early in the 20th Century.
HITCHCOCK/TRUFFAUT. Two brilliant filmmakers and story-tellers, an acolyte and a craftsman. Brilliant.
ILLUSTRATED HISTORY OF THE HORROR FILM by Carlos Clarens. First really good book on monster movies.
SPIDER-MAN by Stan Lee/John Romita: The Green Goblin climax where Gwen Stacy dies.
TAXI (the album), words and music by Harry Chapin, and all Chapin stuff in general. Saw him live in Portland in '75.
The cute girl I was with left afterward to hang out with Iranian exchange students.
For cripe's sake.
He was such a great story-teller.
He died a year later (drunk, in a car crash).
UNBORN CHILD (album), words & music by Seals & Crofts.
Title song got very little air play, but it's heart-rending.
There's a joy to S & C stuff, from "Summer Breeze" (what a wonderful song) to "Diamond Girl" and "I'll Play for You" that lifts my spirits.
PRETZEL LOGIC (album) by Steely Dan.
As with Seals & Crofts, there is a sense of joy about these songs, although some are actually quite quirky and even grim.
It reminds me of my days in the Army in Heidelberg.

3) What is the best thing about you?

My enthusiasm.
I truly wish people to succeed; unlike a lot of people, I don't like seeing anyone fail, even temporary non-friends.
I love encouraging people to do it better, do it right.
With just the smallest bit of effort, we can make the world-ours or anybody else's- nicer, at least for a moment, or for an hour.
Heck, maybe longer than that.

4) You knew this would follow, Worst thing about you?

My enthusiasm.
In a zeal to create or finish a project, I've often neglected personal relationships, and that's stupid.
It's something I've tried to balance. Real life will be there when the project's finished-but the person you've ignored might not be.
When I like someone else's project, I'll often tell them how they can make it better-which of course no one wants to hear.
When I fall in love, I do it with an intensity that sometimes scares people-even me.
I'm trying to work on that, too.
Maybe another dose of the hot tub, followed by a massage.
I'm prone to occasional funks, too.
I think we all get this in various ways, particularly in a mercurial business.
When you're finished with a job, it's like having post-partum depression.
The best thing to do is go back to work on something else-or have several things going at once.
It's too easy to look at one's own accomplishments and dismiss them as not good enough, not grand enough, not enough, period.
But compared to what, and to whom?
Each of us is special in our own weird ways.
Nobody has done exactly what someone else has.

5) Bearing in mind the public is reading (Some are even your fans), How does TN relax?

I've tried to make it a (stupid) practice not to relax.
It scares me.
I'll obsess on work, concentrating, thinking, working - left brain stuff.
Heaven knows what might happen if you let down your guard.
Gee, you might actually feel something wonderful and scary and heavens, you might actually get a genuine right-brain inspiration.
Friends of mine who don't quite buy into this have taught me to slow down in various ways.
Steaming in a hot tub.
A sensuous massage, given and received.
Long walks or climbs, with no particular goal, just for the experience of doing it.
Or something as simple as sitting on a couch together watching a movie.
Kissing.
Holding hands.
Sitting in a jazz club with somebody you really care for and letting the riffs wash over you.

6) Now, Again let us warn you the internet is scandal ridden; With that knowledge, Any personal quirks or habits???

I smoke too much, for sure.
I'll ramble.
My friend Dave De'Coteau said once, "All of Ted's stories have three acts."
My Dad told me to stop verbalizing when I eat.
I do that.
When something's good, goddamn it, I make yummy noises in appreciation.
What may have cooled me from that is when he said a couple weeks ago, "Girls don't like that."
Ulp.
I don't do drugs-though heaven knows I've still got things circulating in my brain from 30 years ago that are unnamable; I'm past the point where promiscuity has any appeal; I drive like an old Korean woman; I live very simply; I don't collect posters, toys, DVDs, stamps or nude pictures of conquered lovers..
I have an ability that annoys a lot of people, to want balance and to see both sides of a situation.
At best, that makes life nicer when you can resolve conflicts between people.
Intensity is an issue that puts some people off.
If there's a problem, I'll charge in to help or fix it-even if the more acceptable path would be to ignore it or just let them handle it themselves.
That's that pro/con enthusiasm again.

7) Having talked with you, we know you have opinions, Have the last word - What do you want to leave us with , like "Words Of Wisdom"?

Anything is possible.
What can be conceived can be achieved.
See WHAT THE BLEEP DO WE KNOW to get some idea; wonderful movie.
There is utterly no such thing as "objective" reality, and so we can make our own.
Some of us do this and create restrictive boxes, protecting us from ideas and hurt and love and everything else; they listen to the little niggling voices that warn them they CAN'T do something, they'll fail, why bother.
Other people imagine impossible achievements and start the ball rolling and, y'know, they can actually happen better than you expect.
I came across this quote from Goethe a few weeks ago.

Biographically speaking I started out as a child. I managed to survive in spite of the fact my parents were both insane. I embraced fandom as a means to survive, which I later abandoned in favor of sex, drugs and rock an roll.

I got into the radio business when I was 20 something. This is where I got my first taste of corporate politics. Nearly everyone I encountered in commercial radio was an insecure, petty, back stabbing clown. Avoid working for corporations unless you fit this description.

I got into advertising as a freelance producer. During my 30's I made hundreds (perhaps thousands) of cheap television commercials. I got married during this period to a woman of good character who is still my best friend in the world.

When I hit 40 I rediscovered my inner fan boy and decided I wanted to try making movies. I'm still trying.

1) What was/is Favorite TV show ?

Back in the days of the 3 channel universe my tastes ran to cartoons. I was raised on the classic Warner Brothers animation. I also remember being fond of SHOCK THEATER (the Universal Horror movies), BIG TIME WRESTLING and THE BOWERY BOYS.

These days, in the 300 channel universe, I enjoy a lot of British comedy. The more irreverent the better! Cartoons are still my favorite. I watch SOUTH PARK. I'm a big Eric Cartman fan. Cartman is my favorite unreconstructed little asshole. I watch the ADULT SWIM on the Cartoon Network. I love the stuff they do with those "B -grade" Hanna Barbara characters. I still watch the original STAR TREK reruns too.

1a) What was/is Favorite MOVIE ?

I can't live with just one movie. Their like potato chips or women's boob jobs, you can't have just one! I always site Fred Olen Ray's HOLLYWOOD CHAINSAW HOOKERS as being the movie that most inspired me to make a movie. So I guess that's as close as I can come to an answer to this question.

2) Favorite Book and/or CD ?

I'm ashamed to admit that I don't read much. I don't actually have a favorite CD. I get bored so quickly. The music I'm listening to now could be classified as lounge music. That includes a wide variety of sub genres including "tiki" & "exotica". I like anything that's just plain unusual. I can tell you one thing, I'm completely bored with the rock an roll of my youth. If I never hear another Led Zepplin record it will be to soon!

3) Best thing about Lou ?

I had a really awful childhood, which meant I had to develop an active imagination and sense of humor to survive. These personality characteristics serve me well today.

4) ...And the obvious follow-up question,Worst thing about Lou ?

Procrastination, laziness and my father's predisposition to alcohol abuse. To that end I don't drink anymore. I'm working on the other problems.

5) What is the "Vockell System" for relaxing ?

I don't relax much these days. If you're going to turn this whole filmmaking thing into a living, you haven't got much time to waste. I made a lot of mistakes and got involved with some bad people early in the game. It's taking everything I've got to get back on track and move forward. You have to take responsibility for your own professional and personal growth. If you really want to be in the game, you have to realize it's a full contact sport!

6) Any personal quirk or habit , We can quote on the internet ?

I guess the fact that I dress up in women's clothing in my movies is a pretty obvious quirk. Do I make it a matter of habit? That's none of your business! That's also a very lovely sweater you're wearing.

7) Any last words for your fans ?

Well, there are people who seem to like the stuff I do. I'm grateful to all of them! I think this new movie THE STALKING HAND will be very entertaining to anyone who enjoys what I do. It has the humor, but it's also a genuine horror movie, with elaborate make-up and computer generated effects. At least as elaborate as we can afford at these prices! Naked bloody girls too!

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. Hall spent his early years watching horror movies at his neighborhood theater and acting in school theater. As a teenager, he wrote and produced live shows at the local planetarium, designed animatronic characters for Sally Industries, and staged promotional events for movie theaters. Moving to Hollywood in 1982, he first became established as a makeup effects artist, working on numerous features, including THE TERMINATOR, GREMLINS II, and BATMAN RETURNS. He has been responsible for many large creations, among them the 16 foot star of Roger Corman's CARNOSAUR and the giant octopus prop from Tim Burton's ED WOOD. During this time, Mr. Hall continued writing, which led to his first screenplay assignment, THE TOMB. Working as associate producer on set, he held cue cards for the legendary John Carradine, hand-doubled for Cameron Mitchell, and hung grenades on Sybil Danning. Then came EVIL SPAWN, which he also directed. With a storyline he describes as a cross between SUNSET BOULEVARD and THE FLY, this ultra-low-budget quickie starred former Playboy bunny Bobbie Bressee and (thanks to some generic footage provided by the producer) John Carradine again. These efforts caught the attention of Charles Band at Empire Pictures (later to become Full Moon Entertainment). There, Mr. Hall created the original PUPPET MASTER, the first of Paramount's successful direct-to-video series, along with other projects, including I WAS A TEENAGE SEX MUTANT (aka DR. ALIEN) and TEST TUBE TEENS FROM THE YEAR 2000. He developed GHOST WRITER, writing and directing the PG-rated syndicated television feature for Audrey and Judy Landers. Also during this period came THE GIRL I WANT and LINNEA QUIGLEY'S HORROR WORKOUT, done under the pseudonym Hal Kennedy. Mr. Hall resumed acting in Rusty Cundieff's comedy, FEAR OF A BLACK HAT. The same writer/director allowed him to combine his special effects background with his directing as the Special Makeup and Visual Effects Supervisor/Effects Second Unit Director on TALES FROM THE HOOD, executive produced by Spike Lee. In 1995, he started his own effects company, Total Fabrication, where he's created characters and creatures for STAR TREK VOYAGER, POWER RANGERS, and the infamous killer snowman film, JACK FROST. He returned to writing with the original script for THE CLOWN AT MIDNIGHT, starring Christopher Plummer and Margot Kidder. 1) What TV Show or Movies inspired you on your way to fame & fortune ?

I grew up in the sixties, which was a phenomenal decade for horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. My mom took my brother and me to the movies with her rather than leaving us with a sitter, so we got to see a lot of cool stuff even when we were toddlers - BRIDES OF DRACULA, PIT AND THE PENDULUM, GORGO, CURSE OF THE WEREWOLD, DINOSAURUS, THE RAVEN, MOTHRA, etc. We were so young that some of these were just random visuals imbedded in our brains until we saw them again later on TV. Speaking of television, we had tons of older movies like the Universal monster classics, THE THING, DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, along all the great series like THE MUNSTERS, LOST IN SPACE, WILD WILD WEST, BATMAN, OUTER LIMITS, THRILLER, and, of course, the original STAR TREK.

2) All the wicked and demented stuff you put on film,What cd or book is your intellectual comfort food ?

I am the world's slowest reader so I don't read fiction for recreation. I guess watching all those movies as a kid enabled me to assimilate things better through audio/visual media. Musically, I have very eclectic tastes ranging from classical to jazz to rock and beyond. When I write, I usually listen to ambient music and film scores that match the feel of what I'm working on. Vocals are distracting to me at these times.

As for movies, my DVD collection includes old Hollywood classics like CASABLANCA and CITIZEN KANE, westerns, comedies, and even Disney flicks. I have cinematic goodies to satisfy virtually every mood though, more often than not, I crave some fun genre piece that takes me back to my youth. On the surface, that's the current focus of my work - bringing elements from things that inspired me in my youth to a contemporary audience. On a deeper level, it keeps me in touch with the muse that nurtured me all those years and ultimately led me out to California.

3) You know I could Ask Michelle Bauer,Mary Woronov or Athena Demos...But,I'm asking Kenneth...What's the BEST thing about you ?

Gee, I'd be curious to hear what they'd have to say. I think that despite 20 plus years of career ups and downs and my overall disdain for the business side of this industry, I've managed to retain my love for the movies themselves, which is what's kept me going... That and a good sense of humor. When I'm at my best, I tend to infect others with the same enthusiasm and sense of fun.

4) ...The natural follow-up question to #3 is -What is the WORST thing about Mista Hall ?

I do have a serious side, which can make me brooding and moody. I also tend to worry about things that are out of my control. People around me during those times pray that I stop stressing and lighten up.

5) Okay,a wee warning...This can be Googled...What do you DO to relax ? between flix ?

An excellent dinner, a good cigar, a cold martini, and a hot babe or two � not necessarily in that order. I tend to be very hedonistic when it comes to my earthly pleasures.

6) Any personal quirk or habit we can QUOTE on internet ?

I don't know if you'd call this a quirk or a habit but I browse porn on the internet just like any other guy. It's a veritable smorgasbord of perversion and I do tend to stray from the more mainstream stuff ,the stereotypical girls with the big lips and fake tits. With all due respect to Hugh Hefner, the Playboy bunny type doesn't do it for me. Give me a woman who looks like a real person with natural breasts like Athena or Janet Tracy Keijser or Stephanie Leighs and that's what's hot to me. Apart from physical types, THE HALFWAY HOUSE is practically a road map to my kinks so you can extrapolate what websites I like from it.

7) Any Last words from the same guy whose strapped down Athena Demos and Put a nun's habit on Mary Woronov ?

I may be considered a perv in some circles but I'm just a red-blooded American guy who likes monster movies and sex. Rather than going the safe, mainstream route which I've come to realize is not for me I've bared my twisted sensibilities to the world and found that I'm not alone. There's an audience out there craving old-school exploitation and I plan to keep on serving it up for them.

1) Can,We start off by asking you alittle about BLOODY BILL (your newest movie).

Absolutely, Bloody Bill is about a group of students who are on their way to a debate meet, their journey is interrupted by a stranded hoodlum who kidnaps them and leads them into "Death Valley" whilst looking for his partner who betrayed him. Death Valley is reigned by the un-dead Bloody Bill and his posse of zombies. Horror, screams, blood and lunch ensues. In essence, it's a good old fashioned Zombie movie!

Are you happy being behind so much make-up ? Feels like a franchise character(like Jason,Freddy,etc.) Would you play BB again ?

Was I happy being in make-up? LOL, well, at first I was intrigued and curious about the process of the make-up but after the initial test make-up I realized that this might not be a cake walk after all. After the eight day of shooting the gel effect stuff they put on my face made me gag...seriously. I was having a real tough time keeping my lunch while they spread the putrid smelling goo on my face, nose and ears. Having said that, the toughest part was taking all that crap off. The gel effect hardens on your face and sticks everything it comes in contact with, including your hair. My hair receded after the shoot. I felt like Chow-Yun fat in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".
As far as a sequel, I know there has been talk of a sequel to Bloody Bill but I don't know whether it will happen or not. Casting will be up to the Asylum Studios but I would like it if a new actor would be given the opportunity to do it. I would love to be a part of the franchise but in a different role next time. I already did the monster role, now let me get eaten up in a horrible fashion.

2) Jeremy,You speak so many languages,Could you dub yourself for films overseas ???

Well, I know some actors have done so in the past and I certainly would have no problem with that. In fact I'd prefer it that way. There's no way dubbing can ever be good but this way I'd have only myself to blame. In fact, I'd probably make it way off reminiscent of the old Chinese Kung Fu movies:-)

3) Okay,hypothetically-no pressure,READY ? If they were to remake ANY martial arts movie,what one would you like to star in ?

Geez... I grew up watching martial arts movie. I used to like Van Damme a lot before he went ga-ga on us. Honestly? You know what movie I would have loved being part of? I mean we're talking really hypothetical here, right? I would have loved to be part of the Matrix movies. The Wachowski Bros, came up with such an original concept of shooting action sequences. Very unique and innovative. Not to mention the ingenuity of the story itself! I'm sure they had a blast on that set, not to mention I would have gotten the chance to beat the crap out of Keanu Reeves and claim it as an accident.
As far as remakes...I can't say any of Bruce Lee's movies because any remake of Bruce Lee's movies would be purely pathetic and lame. I mean who's going to replace Bruce?? I'm not even worthy of Bruce Lee's sneeze. As far a general public goes, I think Bruce's movies are the only martial art classics.
But I may have an answer, except that nobody will know what I'm talking about. There was a movie in Chinese made in the mid-80's called "A Chinese Ghost Story". That has to be one of the best movies I've ever seen. It's a love, ghost, martial arts movie with a twist of Chinese mythology all embedded. The visuals of this movie are breathtakingly beautiful and the story itself is very moving. Again, a remake would probably come up short but it might be worth of shot. Maybe with a western twist to it.

4) Supposedly The Lee Estate have granted permission to filmmakers to CGI Bruce Lee(Like GOLLUM from LOTR),Is this good and would you want that done to you ?

Really? I haven't heard of that and frankly that doesn't sound like a good idea. You're treading unchartered territory ethically speaking. Bruce might be appalled at the idea of his likeness being used. I assume that if the Lee Estate gave such a permission, they must have added a million stipulations to the contract. I don't think we'll see Bruce Lee in a pink skirt anytime soon. This, all the more truthful when you're dealing with an icon of Lee's magnitude, if you desecrate his memory, there are going to be some irate fanatics looking to go "Bruce" on you.
Concerning CGI me, only if you're going have me making out with Catherine Zeta-Jones.

5) Okay,little different train of thought... Last book read (or favorite) and favorite music cd (or whats in your stereo NOW) ?

I like to read a lot, I prefer non-fiction and I am especially fond of autobiographies. I have read a good portion of the biographies out there. I enjoy reading about a person's life, especially somebody that has had a unusual life or lived in a different era. Life itself intrigues me and I have questions that I'm seeking answers to, sometimes I find the answers in somebody elses experiences. I enjoy reading about other people's extraordinary and sometimes amusing stories. I just finished Walter Conkrite's Biography, which was very entertaining. I have always been fascinated with a journalist's life, especially before the corporations took over. Cronkite was part of three wars and has met virtually every head of the state on the planet. Needless to say he had a lot to share! Experiences that I could never be part of, but at least, now I can read about them.
As far as non-fiction goes, right now I'm try to catch up on American classics. Oh, and I'm a big fan of the Harry Potter books.
When music is concerned anything goes, I usually listen to music while driving and if you live in L.A. that means you get to listen to tons of music:-) I have an assortment of jazz, blues, rock'n'roll, oldies, country, the list goes on. Anything from Chris Isaak, Sting, Sade, and above all, Elvis Presley. Huge fan of Elvis! I can do a helluva Elvis karoke impression after a few shots of Jack.

6) BEST thing about JEREMY B ?

Being the embodiment of "coolness". LOL, just joking. How do I answer this without sounding completely insipid. Somebody else might say something different but since this is directed to me, I appreciate the fact that I possess an innate desire to learn. I am constantly perfecting something, whether it be, martial arts, Magic, salsa, linguistics or synchronized swimming, (Just joking), I get a kick out of immersing myself in something new and old. It's really not an issue of "perfecting" myself, it's more to satisfy a curiosity and hunger for knowledge.

7) See this question coming ?,WORST thing about JB ?

Well, here's the backside to the aforementioned answer. I can be very lazy when it comes to things that do not interest me. I really have to kick myself to complete menial tasks that are uninteresting yet necessary. Laundry? Cleaning? Shopping? Cooking? Pfff...those are the true exercises of discipline!
In terms of show business, it sucks being me because I'm quite big. I'm 6'4" and weigh around 230 lbs. A lot of the parts call for inter-changeable characters and when you have a guy my size in the midst of "normal" people, it will stand out! So I miss a lot of opportunities due to that. The other unfortunate issues is that some of the casting directors and directors have pre-conceived templates installed in their brain. When they see anybody blonde, they see "bimbo", when they see a guy with red hair and freckles, they see "nerd" and when they see a big guy, they see "bad guy". Dealing with that can be frustrating at times. Luckily there are people, although few and far apart, creative enough to see past the usual norms of Hollywood.

8) HOW do you relax ?

Hmm...man, people are going to think I'm a total whack-job but I have this weekly ritual. I go to the kickboxing gym I work out at, and work out hard. By hard I means, balls out, gut wrenching, double-vision hard. I hit the pads, focus mitts and spar until my body just gives up on me. Once I feel I've reached my limits, I go another round. Finally, when it's all said and done my mind goes blank. I feel this euphoric sensation of absolute stillness and calmness. I take a shower and I swear each time it's the best damn shower I've ever taken. The cool water almost steams up when it comes in contact with my busted up carcass. The work out itself is obviously hellish but the sensation afterwards is the reward, my senses (and body) are usually a little numb but my mind is very aware of everything.
In conclusion of this bizarre ritual, I usually catch a movie. This is usually during the week, so it's nice, quiet and empty, oh and very cool. I'm physically and mentally drained, calm and relaxed. I just soak up the movie and ride the high until I go to sleep. I do this on a weekly basis but the intensity varies from week to week. The higher the intensity, the more relaxed I will feel while sitting in that cool movie theater:-) However, I also risk getting knocked out in the process and getting my ass kicked can put a major damper on the night. LOL.

9) Any personal quirk or habit we can quote on the internet ?

LOL, yeah, I eat at McDonald's almost on a daily basis. How about that for discipline? Hey, I'm not perfect, o.k!

10) Last words ?,What issue or slogan does Jeremy Bouvet want to leave our readers with ?

Is this where I can give my Oscar speech? Cool, lol. Seriously, I want to thank the creative trinity that drives the Asylum Studios, Sherri Strain, David Rimawi and especially David Latt. 1) Is MOB DAZE film , your Reservoir Dogs ?
I think the script is a good, fun script that has that touch of a retarded Reservoir Dogs. Unfortunately it wasn?t the best done film so I will be taking over the editing and trying to fix all the errors left by the filmmaker behind it.

2) Joe Estevez or Robert Z'Dar ?
The photographer I hired on MOB DAZE had a connection to Robert Z?Dar and I was looking for ANY name to get other names to jump on board. Bob would later hook me up with the underrated Joe Estevez. I think they both give great performances in the movies they?ve done for me.

3) Your film Zombiegeddon has a huge cast, and already word-of-mouth is awesome, How is that possible ?

5) How do you relax ?
I watch movies. I enjoy every sort so that?s how I have fun and also how I relax.

Well, Chris is a quiet guy. On the set of MobDaze I hardly ever saw him. He was either out running errands, picking up actors, or doing other movie things since our director didn't do crap. He is always making jokes about how bad he wants to have sex but no girl will do it with him so he has to wack it all the time. Chris is just a subtly funny guy. In Zombiegeddon, the funniest thing I saw, was one day we were supposed to shoot the scene I was in and it started raining and Chris had his goofy Kansas Movie hat on and was sitting at a picnic table in the rain. Just sitting there, not moving. It was funny stuff. It was like the rain didn't phase him. On Minds of Terror it was funny watching him film me and this girl making out in a scene. He was like, I think you need to do it again. Thanks for that Chris! :)



Count Lyle of Ghoultown

We know you have had good luck with soundtracks on American Nightmare, Hallows End,and even our own Boot Hill Blind Dead. So,What tv show or movie would you like to be involved in-ANY past,present or future???

I?ve always wanted to work with Robert Rodriguez on any project. As a matter of fact, we met up with him a few weeks back and I personally gave him a copy of our new ?Live From Texas!? CD. So maybe if something appropriate comes along, he might think of using Ghoultown for some soundtrack work.

You've done alot of research with your music. What favorite book inspired you? Anybody else's cd?

As far as books, the only one I can think of that might have inspired some parts of Ghoultown would be Stephen?s King?s Dark Tower series. As for CDs, I draw most of my influence from Mercyful Fate, Iron Maiden, Johnny Cash, and The Misfits. I don?t know how all those translate into what Ghoultown plays, but you gotta figure that all the music I?ve ever heard has probably influenced my songwriting in some way or another. Even if it?s like, ?I sure as hell don?t wanna write something like that.?

What's the best thing about Count Lyle?

Hell if I know.

The un-natural :) followup question...What's the worst thing about Count Lyle (We'll wait while you ask the rest of Ghoultown...)?

Well, since Blasko - who plays bass for both Ozzy and Rob Zombie - set up a cool showcase for us in L.A., I wouldn?t have anything bad to say about those bands. So that leaves Martha. I don?t care how or why she got in trouble, but hopefully this will get her cooking show off the Food Network. It interrupts the flow of the other good programming.

1) What is the favorite film of yours,that you were involved in ?

I'll answer this in two ways. BIOHAZARD 2 (aka BIOHAZARD THE ALIEN FORCE) was the most fun of any of my films to do. We had a great cast and crew - the same crew had done DARK UNIVERSE together and had become seasoned pros at low budget Florida 16mm epics. This time we decided to pull out all the stops (all the stops our budget would allow) and defy the odds... 28 different locations, huge cast unit, lots of action, helicopters, explosions, everything you aren't supposed to do on a 5 figure budget. But we pulled it off; I even got to cast Bill Grefe (director of STANLEY, DEATH CURSE OF TARTU, STING OF DEATH, etc. and a mentor to both Fred and I) in a cameo, my brother and my son. My Dad got to play Chris Mitchum's pilot (Dad's a big Robert Mitchum fan) and my current writing partner Beth Armogida pulled off location miracles all through Daytona Beach. Long-lasting friendships were formed on that film - as if we'd all been through a war together. On this show, after reading the script, co-executive Producer Grant Austin Waldman laughed and told me "...you'll never pull this off." Grant is now selling Real Estate in Orlando. As far as SCRIPTS, I've written... I was happiest with the way ACTIVE STEALTH turned out. I got to include all my favorite war movie cliches (including nods to John Wayne and Alistair MacLean) and film at Corriganville ranch (host to countless classic movies including FORT APACHE) in Simi Valley. It's one one Fred Ray's best films - and had a great cast.

2) All great filmmakers need inspiration,what book and/or cd do you prefer ?

For story and strong hero stuff, I always go back to the master of action/adventure... the late Alistair MacLean... GUNS OF NAVARONE... WHERE EAGLES DARE... ICE STATION ZEBRA... PARTISAN... PUPPET ON A CHAIN... great stuff. MacLean's heroes were my favorite ones... tired, frustrated, sarcastic, always professional but always overworked, yet always got the job done when no-one else could. And against overwhelming odds. Kinda like screenwriters. And MacLean's villains were always real bastards. Kind of like producers. For music inspiration - anything by composer John Barry. Western scores... as for movies... James Bond, late period John Wayne... hero stuff. The kind of movies you watch with Dad.

3) We are not asking Fred Olen Ray or Jim Wynorski this question,We are asking YOU-What's the "BEST" thing about STEVE ?

As far as screenwriting is concerned... the best thing about me is construction... I'm a solid story constructionist. I have talent for seeing the entire film as a whole. I'm also prolific and work very fast - which directors and producers REALLY appreciate.

4) Of course as a writer,you know this follow-up should come next ...What's the "WORST" thing about STEVE ?

Fred Ray would tell you that it's my "steaming mug of coffee." Invariably, in every script I've written which featured a name actor playing an admiral or "office hero" - he always "lifts that steaming mug of coffee to his lips" (you see Andrew Stevens do it a lot in ACTIVE STEALTH). Fred thinks I do it out of habit; what he doesn't realize is that I do it to irritate him. Yet he keeps shooting it... catch COOLIO and TIM THOMERSON on the boat in SUBMERGED.

5) How do you relax from a long day of screenwriting ?

I don't have long days of screenwriting. I work 3-4 hours tops and then I'm tapped out. I relax by driving out into the desert looking for old western movie locations. In fact, I live in the middle of an old movie location - Iverson's Movie ranch in Chatsworth, where Republic pictures made all of their serials and westerns. I can look out my front porch and see the cliff where Commando Cody aka "Rocketman" got knocked into space by Clayton Moore. Same cliff where John Wayne's construction batallion (sp?) knocked a Jap bulldozer to its doom with a bulldozer in FIGHTING SEABEES. Lots of movie history here.

6)Any personal quirk or habit ?,That we can quote on the internet ...

I get choked up watching old Roy Rogers movies. Seriously. Love the DUKES OF HAZZARD. And have a long-time, disturbing obsession with HOGAN'S HEROES.

1) Of all your projects,which is your favorite ?

I think I'd have to say KILLERS BY NATURE. It may not turn out the best, but it was the most fun. There was so much to do on this picture. I directed, produced, wrote, and acted in this movie. My character of "Jeffrey Mordrid" was a quirky little guy who could be humorous one second and menacing the next. I got to do martial arts, run around, shoot cops, stab people, and get all bloody.

2) Thinking you might be learned,Favorite Book or CD you've enjoyed?

Not much of a reader, so my favorite cd would be Aerosmith's "A Little South of Sanity". This 2-cd set never bores me and I could listen to it 10 times a day forever. It's packed with such hits as "Dream On", "Ragdoll", "What It Takes", and "Walk This Way".



3) What's the best thing about you?

I'm so damn persistent. I never give up and keep fighting the fight to make life better. I just try and try and try until I get something right.

Question 1) On FRIGHT NIGHT series,What was your Favorite FULL MOON picture and would you say why(Room to tell us Which one SUCKED,if you want) ?

Hideous was the best movie I ever seen! I loved it because it started at the sewer plant and it was about mutated babies. It gives a shocking surprise when they came alive. I give this movie 2 thumbs up because it is full of surprises.

The one that SUCKED was Castle Freak. It was too predictible and there were only 2 scenes that were good. The rest was bland. If that movie had a flavor, it would taste like gruel.

2)Okay,So Will/Bill Shatner was your Co-Host on FMFN-But,If you could have picked your cohost Who ? Living or Dead ?

Yes. I am a gorehound. I like gross things. The grossier the better, blood and guts (real or fake) don't scare me or make me sick. I love scaring people. I love being scared myself. I always wanted to take up taxidermy. I also have arachophobia. I run from all spiders big or small. Other than that, I'm perfect.

6) After bartending under those hot lights all day,HOW DO YOU RELAX ???

In a nice lukewarn bubble bath. With a martini of course.

Future plans are for Dee to finish that IANBAC (I Am Nothing But A Corpse) story. I think IANBAC is on haitus right now because it is christmastime and she is out there preforming as the Grinch at holiday functions and they got her booked solid. She will start back working on IANBAC after New Years. She wrote that story about me because she kept complaining that I didn't do enough killing. (That's what she really said!) Dee likes all monsters and she is a excellent gorehound like myself. When I am PK, I can't go (walk) far with the suit on because it takes 2 people to operate it, so Dee is having a smaller and easier version made so that I can walk around in. She wants to show me off at the Full Moon convention at Chicago in June 13-14-15, 2003.

How I got my name.

I didn't have a name. It irritated Dee (lover of all monsters). So she went to one of the producers of FMFN, and they gave her permission to name me. She gave me a name that wasn't used (hear of) on the internet. She named me Pete Klopek because she thinks that sounds like the name of a deranged serial killer.

1) What movie has inspired you ?

Being There with Peter Sellers. I love that film. It made me want to become a philosopher and also appreciate acting. So now I am an actress who appreciates philosophy. Hey, I'm dislexic.

1a) Any tv shows now or in the past,that you enjoy ?

I love animation. It is truly the art of modern day television. For some reason I currently have an afinity for SpongeBobSquarePants. I loved Liquid TV on MTV with AEON FLUX. There is the first time I ever saw SouthPark.

2) Now,we get to the nosy stuff...What's the Best thing about Athena ?

I have no inhibitions. I love to be dared and make dares I know no one else will do. It got me into alot of trouble in college, but nothing I couldn't get out of (including arrests).

3) The probable follow-up ...What's the Worst thing about Miss Demos ?

Now why would I tell you that. Others might say that I intimidate people or that I am too confident. I love myself just the way I am (body included).

4) How do you relax, daily or in between projects ?

I would like to say with a hot cup of tea and a good book. But the truth is that the only way I can relax is with a great orgasm. Truth be known . . . Great Sex is the key to my relaxation. 3 or 4 hours of intense romping and I will sleep like a baby.

5) Any special QUIRKS ,Or HABITS we can quote on the internet ?

I have the bad habit of biting off more that I can chew. I take on too many projects and then race around like a mad woman trying to get them all done. I also like to do for others before myself, and that can lead to some serious stress for me. Sometimes I just need to sit back and take care of myself.

6) You've already worked on many projects,can you dish gossip on the making of Battlestar Galactica, Crawling Brain, Man Show, or Dead Season ???

Actually, I have a rule not to gossip. It only breeds bad blood. If I have an issue with someone I like to speak with them personally or if there is something interesting about someone I will leave it up to them to spill the beans. If you want to know about me, just ask me. I loved working on all of those shows. Battlestar was the longest shooting so I got to know the people on the set better. It was great fun and I made some good friends. But Crawling Brain and Dead Season were a blast as well. I love getting naked, screaming, then dieing. It seems to be the recipe to a great horror film. In fact I was the opening sequence for both of those films. I also shot the opening for Blood Dancers, Blood Gnome, and Camp Utopia. The Man Show was in a class all of its own. Comedy is the hardest of all to do, but the most rewarding.

7) Athena,what would you say last to make an impression with your fans ?

There is a world inbetween fantasy and reality where all creativity and imagination lives. That is the floating world, the world of dreams. This is where I choose to live. Everything is possible here.

Alexandre Michaud
Canada's edgiest filmaker...

Alexandre Michaud released a shocking underground cannibal gorefest call ed URBAN FLESH in november 1999. Considered as obscene by some idiots at t he custom agencies of the world, the movie was quickly banned in 3 countrie s including it's home country; Canada. It didn't prevent distribution and the movie slowly became a kind of weird cult in some areas of the world. Michaud came back this year with two new movies. He produced and direct ed a segment of Kevin Lindenmuth's TIME ENOUGH: THE ALIEN CONSPIRACY (to be released on DVD early in 2003 in England and the US). He also just relea sed a short movie called BEAST to be featured in the upcoming anthology BITE S: WEREWOLF CHRONICLES by Brimstone Media. BEAST is actually available as a stand-alone 45-minutes movie and will appear on the festival circuit in 2003. Actually, Alexandre Michaud is working as executive producer on a new mo vie series called GoreGoyles. The first GoreGoyles movie will feature two stories by Kevin J. Lindenmuth (Addicted To Murder) and newcomer Augie Arredondo. Alexandre Michaud lives in Montreal, Quebec and draws his bread and butt er from being a stock broker.

The Interview:

1) What movie and or moviemaker inspired your career ?
I love the old Chinese guys; John Woo and Ringo Lam. With Full Contact, The Killer, Bullet In The Head etc these guys created a brand new way to look at movie making. My main influence comes from the Italian horror f ilm from the 70's and 80's. Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci, Sergio Martino, Umberto Lenzi, Ruggero Deodato... All these directors where making horr or flicks with shoestrings and were doing it with their heart and soul by putting as much style as possible in it. I also like Sam Raimi, Alex Proyas, Albert Pyun and all the directors th at try to give us a little more that just the story and who try to be a lit tle different.

1a) Any tv shows now or in the past,that you have feelings for ?
I don't watch much TV anymore but I have melancholy feelings when I thin k about THE DUKES OF HAZARD or THE HULK... These were the good old days o f television. Nothing complicated. Just plain fun.

2) On to personal gossip,AM - Whats the best thing about you ?
I work fast. I am living dream (even if it's not as I was dreaming it i n the first place...)

3) The obvious followup question---Whats the worst thing about you ?
I work fast... and I'm French!!

4) How do you relax ???
I grab a big bottle of beer, I light a cigar and I do some editing on my computer.

6) What behind the scenes information should we know about - Actor John Fallon, BEAST film,or the new project GOREGOYLES ?
TIME ENOUGH was hell to make. I really hated that shoot. My personnal life was a mess. The cast was always complaining and we didn't have enoug h cars to drive everybody everywhere... And it was f*****g cold! John Fallon is a cool guy and a good actor. He has a lot of drive and things are picking up quickly for him. I'm happy for John. We are stil l in touch. BEAST was the BEAST shoot I ever did. We had an awsome cast and crew an d everything went perfectly... Except for the police investigation scene. We had to stop shooting this scene after two hours because the actor we had couldn't say one line properly. Not one line! We had to recshedule and recast the role and the final result is very very very good since Anthon y Pereira took over and he and Mireille Levesque do such a wonderful job together!!! GOREGOYLES #1 is coming at the end of 2003. It will feature two stories of blood and guts by two awsome American directors. Berzerkers by Kevin Lindenmuth just finished wrapping in Michigan. Holy Terror by Californi an director Augie Arredondo should be fully edited in about two weeks. I' ll be personnally doing a story called CLEAN for GoreGoyles #2. We are set for shooting in April. Hopefully, it will be my biggest and best projec t yet. BTW, if any indy director/producer reading that is interested by GoreGoyles... You can get in contact with me at: [email protected] . 7) AM- Leave us, With that lasting impression of You (Your views) ?
I think that everybody should stand up for their opinions. Like Zapata said, it's better to die standing up than to live on his knees. I'm for the total independance of Qu�bec from Canada. I'm totally against censorship of any kind. I'm against communisism. I'm for freedom of speech but for total protection of privacy. I'm a little nihilistic on the edges. I truly think that were are doome d simply because humankind is too dumb. In our modern society, people jus t act like sheeps and just lie to themselves. They love everybody and the y dream that everybody loves them. That's just a bunch of bullshit! When something like 9-11 happens, they get shaked up a little. They then mee t a psychologist so they can go back to living their f***ing fantasy just li ke before... Very few people are really down to earth. C'mon, have a look out there. 1) Of all your films, which is your favorite and why?
I've got to go with THE GREAT ESCAPE. It was a class act with McQueen, Garner, Attenborough, etc. All one had to do was just stand around and talent rubbed off on you. It was a five month gig and it's as if I can remember every day of it. I've always said, "Every actor should have a Great Escape in his repertoire."

1a) Of all your tv show appearances which is your favorite and why ?
I wish I could say something clever about my appearances on television. I can't. Star Trek was an anomaly that is more important today than it was thirty years ago. But you have piqued my imagination and in thinking back, I did three episodes of The Rogues. David Niven was a friend of mine from Europe and he wanted me to be a regular on the show but it folded before that ever became a reality. The Rogues had a cast of talented actors that has not been duplicated since. They are all gone now and when I look back on it, I realize how very blessed I was to have had those moments with such a wonderful cast.

2) Do you have a favorite book to read?
Funny that you should ask. I recently picked up a book in a garage sale and when I sat down to read it, I couldn't put it down. I ran out and bought half a dozen copies and sent them to my closest friends. Then, I got on the Internet and told everyone I knew to go out and buy or rent this book. It is called THE DEATH OF COMMON SENSE by Phillip K. Howard. It is a book that every American should read because it is not only provocative and mind-bending but it questions our legal values and the direction that this country has taken and explains to a great degree what we as citizens have permitted our leaders to foster upon the citizenry of this great nation. READ IT!!! This has ceased to be a "government of the people, for the people, by the people," but a nation held captive and for ransom by a small minority and none of our leaders have the balls to do anything about it. Hey, you asked.

2a) On a similar note ;)...do you have favorite music to listen to?
BACH, BACH AND MORE BACH. My ex-father-in-law was one of the greatest conductors in the world: Herbert von Karajan. Do you think I could sit still for rap or heavy metal? Not on your life.

3) Lawrence, you have worked with many actors and actresses...who has helped your performance the most ?
I haven't a clue. Maybe I missed that lesson but I never read where actors help actors. If you want to ask about directors, that's something else. But if you want to know if any actors were real ass-holes, I'd be glad to fill you in.

4)Every interview should have the soul searching question...here's ours:
Whats the best thing about YOU?
That's a question you'll have to ask people who know me. At one time I would have said that I was a talented actor. But over the years and through the media, that talent was never exploited and I never got a chance to develop into a really fine actor. Pity, because I think I had a talent at one time. And then, one day, I lost confidence. The talent wasn't there any longer and neither was the confidence. It was time to pick up my chips and get out of the game. What's the best thing about me? I guess I have to say that I was smart enough to walk away from the table when I was winning!

5)Now the natural follow up question, and you can say what others have told you:
Whats the worst thing about Lawrence Montaigne?
I am probably the most impatient person on the planet. I read about injustices that people do to other people and I just want to...well, I don't know what. I have no patience to deal with petty people and their petty problems. I can't help it. I look at the big picture, 9/11 and all the things that have transpired since, the senseless killings in our cities, the stupidity of our leaders, the crassness of big industry...I should be living in a cave somewhere in Nepal. Nuff said.

6)How do you relax ?
I have many friends all over the country, all over the world, and we keep in touch over the Internet. One friend in particular, keeps me on my toes and makes sure that my head is screwed on straight. She visits me a couple of times a month from her home in Arizona and when she comes here, we spend quality time together. So, I have decided to get even with her and at the end of this month, I hope she will marry me when we are vacationing in Vegas. She doesn't know about it yet so I expect you to keep your mouth shut! Nothing more relaxing than a really wonderful woman.

7)Any personal quirk or habit we can quote on the internet?
Do you mean like picking my nose in restaurants or farting in elevators? Naw, my friend from Arizona has broken me of those quirks. Is there anything that pisses me off? Yeah! SMOKING. I am a born-again, non-smoker. I tried to kill myself with cigarettes for thirty-five years. I ruined my teeth and gums with tobacco. Why? Because I was stupid and weak. I was a victim and I never knew it. I know this sounds like some religious fanatic and you'd be right to think so. I see people I know, people who should be looking forward to a long and healthy life, and they light up a cigarette and I want to slap the damn thing out of their mouth. If I try to talk to them, they give me the same old line of crap; "It's my life. I don't tell you how to live yours so don't tell me how to live mine!" Jeez, wake up!

1a.) This is a question I always get stuck on in interviews. This changes all of the time. My all-time favorite horror film would have to be BLACK CHRISTMAS! I don't know why, but this film effects me in a different way everytime I see it. It's a brilliant piece of work, and I think it deserves more credit then it has recieved in the past. I think people are finally seeing it as a classic now, though. It started the slasher genre! This is definitely a movie to watch while taking shots of Jagermeister!

1b.) I don't read as often as I used to, which a real shame. My favorite book as a kid was "The Computer Nut". I can't tell you why I liked it so much, but I must've read the thing atleast 20 times cover to cover! Man, I really got to start reading more books again!

1c.) This is another thing that changes quite a bit. One of my all time favorite albums is "Death to the Pixies" from The Pixies. I think it's one of the best albums ever made!

2. It would have to be either Bela Lugosi or Vincent Price! I admire thier work from the past, and it would be great to actually get to work with them if they were alive!

3. My ability to not only work hard at what I do, but to be a very caring person. I enjoy making people happy!

4. I look too deeply into situations, which can sometimes make you go crazy!

5. I quit smoking about five months ago and I've been really good about it. One habit I must break is spending too much money!

6. I like to swim a lot, spend time outdoors, etc. I also don't get much sleep, so that's always a plus! I've really become an outdoor kinda guy. I've spent most of my life as a real hermit homebody type, but things have really changed. I can't stand sitting at home when I'm not shooting.

7. Hmm..... She has a thing for bunnys!? Nope, that's not a good one, everyone knows that. She loathes incompetent parking lot employees! Lilith is great! We always have a lot of fun together. The MALEFIC shoot was extremely difficult on all of us (especially the director, Steve Sessions). We were shooting at a break neck pace. It did turn out to be a great film, though. It's gotten great reviews for those that have been lucky enough to see it. Hopefully, it will see a wide release soon.

Well, Cremains no gossip since we all filmed our segments at different times.
But on the set of Malefic one night Steve decided to take a break on filming and sent us out to dinner. The establishment we went to was also patronaized by the local police and we did not escape thier notice. Once we left and made a stop at a local store and were on a way back to the cabin in the woods we were pulled over. Basically they were just curious as to what we were up to in thier little town.

1b)Favorite Book or Magazine/ - - - Catcher in the Rye - For better or for worse I sometimes identify with Holden, as I think everyone does at some point in their life. The bubbling rage, the cynicism, the lonliness. I guess it speaks to my grocuhy side (see answer further on...). But ont he other hand it all breaks down and we're left as sobbing slugs who just need to be held. Until such time that our walls build up again...

1c)Favorite CD: - - - KISS Alive II - bought the double album when I was a kid - played it to death. My favorite band. Now I've turned my 4-year-old son onto them. God help me!

2)Who would you like to work with ? Living Or Dead : John Carpenter - I love him because he has a style and sticks with it. I think we have a lot in common in terms of wanting things a certain way and doing many tasks to make sure that we get it. I also liek the fact that he "paints his canvas" with not only the visual, but with the music. This is something I try to emulate.

3)What's The Best Thing About You ? - - - My sense of humor. I would hope that I can make people laugh. Or scare them with my movies. Or sometimes both!

1a) Favorite Film I never could understand how anyone could have a favorite film. If they do, they must change it often. If pressed I'd say my favorite comedy film is Duck Soup, and my favorite horror film is Bride of Frankenstein. Honorable mentions: Dr. Strangelove, Brides of Dracula, Sons of the Desert, Maltese Falcon, and scores of others!

1b)Favorite Book or Magazine My favorite magazine is Cult Movies, but I'm prejudiced. They actually know I'm alive and give me good reviews. Books are like movies to me, too many favorites. I've read the horror classics many times, Dracula, Frankenstein, Phantom of the Opera, but I think my favorite is H.G. Wells "Island of Dr. Moreau," a book whose imagery never fails to haunt me.

1c)Favorite CD: Revolver. By those English guys. You know, the one hit wonders...

2)Who would you like to work with ? Living Or Dead : Dead: Alfred Hitchcock. As an actor he just let you alone, so I'd like that. I'm hard pressed to think of anyone I'd want to work with among the living. I like lots of people, but working with them would tarnish the image I have of them.

3)What's The Best Thing About You ? I don't like wasting people's time when I'm shooting a movie, and everyone appreciates that.

4)What's The Worst Thing About You ? I become too enthralled with all the technology floating around. Things I've lived without all these years because they simply didn't exist, and now that they do I MUST HAVE THEM! I wish I could be less of such a consumer.

5)Any Personal Quirk Or Habit,We Can Quote ? I talk to myself. Nearly constantly. I split into two and have question and answer sessions with myself. My brain is such a muddled pit of wandering thoughts, it seems the only way I can clear my brain is talk it out of me.

6)How Do You Relax ? Watching B movies, with some coffee and comfort food late at night is my idea of vegging.

ROXANNE COYNE, Actress!

I'm finishing up a run of The Jew of Malta at the Knightsbridge Theater in Pasadena. We were reviewed in the LA Weekly (April 13) and I got a great mention in the article although the reviewer did not seem to enjoy the show, overall. I'm currently working on a screenplay of a psychological thriller with lots of women in leading roles and I am also producing an industry symposium for Stanford Alumni in Entertainment. I'm on the board of directors of this organization. I'm also preparing for the possible industry strikes this summer by focusing more on my commercial print and voice-over work.

Here's the interview:

1. Favorite film.
Right now I'd say my favorite movie is Shakespeare in Love. It's SO Romantic!!!! After I saw that movie I completely fell in love with Shakespeare and I decided from then on to study the classics and perform as much Shakespeare as possible. I did some classical theater in fourth grade and then again as a senior in high school but until recently that was the extent of my experience. So, I took an intensive Shakespeare workshop about two years ago to get familiar with the period and the culture and the language and after that I started auditioning like crazy for classical plays. Last summer I did my first one, Midsummer Night's Dream, where I played "Hippolyta", the Amazon Queen. Currently I'm performing in The Jew of Malta, where I play the cash-strapped courtesan, "Bellamira".

Favorite Book or Magazine.
I don't read that much anymore, sad to say. I seem to have very little time for leisure reading. When I DO read, it's usually a play or some industry magazine for research purposes. However, recently I did come upon a magazine that really rocked my world. It's called REAL SIMPLE. I don't think it's been around too long, but I just bought a subscription. It's a very girlie sort of magazine designed for career women who are totally stressed out and are trying to simplify their lives while still being chic and sophisticated. That would be me, I guess. There are tips for entertaining without blowing a gasket, shopping ideas that are reasonable and won't melt your wallet, ideas for romantic getaways with your sweetie....... that sort of thing.

Favorite CD.
I have so many favorite discs! I tend to play the same thing over and over until I'm completely sick of it and then I toss it aside. I am a big Dead Head, so that never gets old for me. I like Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Romanza by Andrea Boccelli.

2. Who would I like to work with, Living or Dead
I really love Gary Oldman. He would be great to work with. I like John Travolta, too. One of my all time favorites is Humphrey Bogart. And of course there' s Benicio del Toro. That guy's just wonderful. Female actresses I'd like to work with would be Annette Benning, Joan Allen and Sophia Loren.

3. The Best thing about me?
I have a wonderful family that loves me and is supportive of anything I undertake. My husband Brian is my biggest fan.....!

4. The worst thing
I tend to be obsessive. This isn't necessarily bad, but it can be. I obsess about things like food, exercise, work. I'm never in a happy medium: it's all or nothing with me.

5. Personal quirk or habit
I hate flying on airplanes.

6. Relax
I am not good at relaxing unless I'm physically far away from my house. I think when your office is also your home it's very difficult to make boundaries and declare the workday over. There's always something I should've done that day. It's funny, sometimes I like to veg out and watch tv in the evening, but I can't just sit there. I have to always be doing something else, besides. Like knitting socks or doing a crossword puzzle or making a lampshade or something like that. To really relax I have to go to a beach somewhere in a tropical place, like Hawaii or Puerto Rico. I take a stack of novels and a few bottles of suntan lotion and completely check out. Unfortunately, I can't remember the last time I did this..........!

7. Lasting impression?
No lasting impressions. Everything is a work in progress.
