Auditions      Captain Auditions      Rehearsal Ettiquette      Membership Fees
It is the responsibility of all members and auditionees to read the rehearsal ettiquette rules that follow. Failure to observe and follow these rules may result in grade docking or dismissal from the color guard audition process.
1. Be early. If you are on time you will be considered late, if you are late you will face the consequences.

2. If you must be absent, contact your instructor at least one day in advance of the rehearsal you will be missing. If an emergency arises the day of, contact your instructor as soon as possible.

3. Do not wear jeans. You may wear athletic pants or shorts.

4. Do not chew gum. All gum must be properly disposed of before rehearsal begins.

5. Turn off or silence your cell phone at the beginning of practice.

6. Do not talk while your instructor is speaking.

7. Be respectful to your instructor, the other members of your guard, and any other persons attending the rehearsal. Leave all of your drama and attitudes at the door.

8. Do not spin while the instructor is talking. Generally, the position to assume while listening to instructors is flat with a flag or nose to ground with a rifle or sabre.

9. Be open-minded about everything you learn. Know that when one thing is true at one time it could change quickly. Do not argue about it. Also know that "one more time" never actually means that you will only do something once and be finished.

10. When setting your flag down, it must be first rolled up and then placed on a level surface with the silk pointing in the same direction as the person who set their flag down first. You may never lean your flag up against a wall, fence, tree, etc. and be sure that when equipment is laid down it is either in the formation you had been standing in or it is in a line, one piece of equipment should never be laid down by itself.
Rehearsal Ettiquette
Uniform Ettiquette
1. When you are in your uniform, t-shirt, or guard jacket you are representing this guard and we would like to uphold the reputation of CLASSY COLOR GUARD.

2. No eating in uniform unless it is absolutely necessary. If it is absolutely necessary, the uniform top may be removed (assuming a shirt is underneath it) and you may eat in your guard t-shirt and pants. Do not spill anything.

3. Do not drink any colored liquids while in uniform. You may drink water only (that is all you need anyway).

4. Do not run in your uniform unless it is choreographed in your show and you are performing your show.

5. Do not use foul language while in uniform.

6. No public display of affection while you are in uniform. This includes hugging, holding hands, kissing, etc. You may hug other guard members who are also in uniform, or link arms with a band member who is in uniform as an escort would. This is very important in upholding our ideal reputation as a CLASSY COLOR GUARD.
