Our year was a great one. We went on several field trips and at our meetings earned Interest Patches and worked on the Silver Award Project. We started with 9 girls working on it, but only 3 completed all the requirements to receive the highest award a Cadette Girl Scout can earn. The project was a Make It & Take It craft event. A lot of work went into its preparation but we had lots of time to do other fun leaning activities as well. After we completed the craft event, we adopted as our little sisters Daisy Troop 213, kindergarten girls from Lake and Central schools. Troop 340 split into teams of 2 to plan and lead the monthly meetings for the Daisy troop.  We earned the Program Aide pin to assist in the leadership of younger girls. For our troop activities, we met the Mayor of Gonzales who gave us a tour of City Hall. We went to Entergy Riverbend Center in St Francisville to learn about conserving energy. We attended a Native American Pow Wow and learned what a diverse culture our parish has. We went to a prodcution of "Sojourn Truth" to celebrate Black History, and to Blue Bayou Swamp to learn about nature and work on a Photograph Interest Patch. We volunteered for our council and service unit, went to Girl Scout Night at Kingfish Hockey, and went camping twice. And of course, sold lots of cookies. As you can see, we were busy Girl Scouts!
