Q. Does KSOA train new officials?
A. Yes, KSOA is always looking for motivated personnel to train as sports officials.

Q. What do sports officials get paid?
A. The fees for officials differs depending on the level of competetion.

Q. Do sports officials buy their own uniforms and equipment?
A. Yes, individual officials must purchase their own uniforms and equipment to work.

Q. What are the membership fees for KSOA?
A. KSOA membership fees are $15 per year.

Q. Are there other membership fees to be paid?
A. Yes, depending on the sport. KSOA requires all softball officials to be members of the Amateur Softball Association (ASA), $20 per year.  KSOA requires all High School Basketball Officials to be members of IAABO (International Association of Approved Basketball Officials), $25 per year.
