Unfortunately the DeHackEd file is old and don't work right. Oh well. The new music is your usual Internet MIDI bash, including the Terminator theme and some Star Wars music. The music for E1M5 is kinda nice however. The author also throws in some crappy custom graphics . . . I suppose the caution one isn't too bad. All the levels have random texturing mediocre action. E1M1 is randomly and badly designed, with mediocre action. E1M2 is a crappy house level with crappy graphics. The roaming Spidey is somewhat nice. E1M3 is again randomly and badly designed, with mediocre action. E1M4 and E1M5 are both big sprawling levels, though design doesn't *totally* suck. There is a pretty neat staircase section in the northwest of E1M4 that might wanna check out. I couldn't figure out how to exit E1M5. Pass.

BLUDBATH
Robert Larkin July 26, 1998
This is a small level. Design isn't very good, just rooms and hallways. Texturing is random . . . I think. I do remember he uses some transparent vine textures for solid walls. Yay. The good thing about this level is that it's rather dark, so this makes the battles pretty interesting. (And they look real cool in jDoom to boot.:D) Action is pretty good, mainly due to the aforementioned lighting. Might wanna check it out.

BLUDFEST
Steve Kaufman September 4, 1994
This is a medium-sized level, with a somewhat interesting design; basically it's a circle with some smaller concentric half and quarter circles inside of it. Not much architecture. Texturing is random. Action is alright.

BloodLust (BludLst2.wad)
Greg Grimsby June 1, 1994
Just a note, the level is actually E1M9, not E2M9, as the text file says. Well this level is pretty cool. It's pretty short, but a lot of fun. It has three levels, a sewer, a base level, and a hi-tech level. Each level juts out like spokes on a wheel, two spokes making up a level, if you follow me. Architecture is pretty good, the sewer level in particular. Texturing is very good for each of the levels. Action is pretty good as well. Overall, a short, fun, cool-looking level.

BME1
August 18, 1994
I do believe this is the first unsigned WAD I've come across. I also have to wonder what the Hell the PLATFORM lump contained within it is for. Anyway, this is a somewhat large, sprawling level. Texturing is mainly that grayish-black stone. Design is somewhat open-ended. Action is alright. Overall, kinda monotonous, not particularly fun.

Barons & Beyond! (BnBeyond.wad)
Jason Michelsen October 28, 1994
This is a pretty big, sprawling level, the design of which is not very fun at all. It took me about an hour and half, maybe more to complete. There's a large outside area, and then a shitload of labyrinthine corridors and rooms around it. Texturing is random. Action is quite tough, with hordes of monsters complicated by a paltry amount of health and ammo. You'd have to be an infighting master to get 100% kills. If you're looking for a serious (and basically unfair) challenge, you might wanna check it out, but otherwise, pass.

DUEL (BNEDUEL.wad)
Ben Allred and Evan Sarli July 25, 1995
A very short level with a courtyard and some hallways. Texturing is marble and wood. The idea is you vs. a Baron. As a result the map only has a Baron (or two, plus some miscellany in a secret room) in a totally anti-climatic setting. Not particularly interesting.

MUD (BNEMud.wad) Ben Allred and Evan Sarli June 4, 1995
Another rather short level. Texturing and structure is random. Action is pretty good.

Baron on an Altar (BoA.wad)
Andrew Murphy June 19, 1994
This WAD is pretty fun. The thing that makes this smallish-medium-sized level interesting is that its almost entirely non-orthogonicno square rooms or right angles or anything. And surprisingly, it looks good. It makes you feel as if youre in a burrow of some sort, instead of the standard military base or whatever. Architecture is good, too. Its only failing is that the texturing is a bit random. Action is pretty easy too. And I couldnt figure out how to get the yellow key. But still, I enjoyed it; fans of offbeat design will definitely want to check it out. 3.5/5

B21 (BobMe21.wad)
Bob Carter July 17, 1994
This is a somewhat large level 100% in E2 style, meaning mediocre architecture and totally random texturing. On top of that, some areas were lifted directly from episode 2 itself, which I thought was pretty lame. It IS a classic example of an E2M1 level, but probably nostalgia hunters only will enjoy this WAD. 3/5

Barts Office 1.1 (BOffice.wad)
Bart McEndree April 15, 1994
Another day, another office level. This one sucks. Design is totally unrealistic (I KNOW your office doesnt have this much goddamn empty space, BART), crappy, with shitty texturing as well, and those oh-so-amusing theres items on the counter that you cant even grab. Did you even playtest this thing man? Action is easy, too. 2/5

BONUS.WAD
Thilo Beuke, Alexander Dost August 29, 1994
This short level is composed of about four big, featureless filled with ammo and enemies. It looks like the authors didn't even bother to change the default textures that DEU used. I shudder to think of what either of these two authors would produce by themselves. 1/5

Boogers
John Jablonski November 15, 1994
Despite the retarded name, this is actually a pretty good WAD. You start off on a small space ship, then go planetside. Design is good, and the level progression makes a good deal of sense. Architecture too is pretty nice. Texturing is consistent until the last part, where it starts to wander a bit. Action is good, though ammo is a bit tight. Overall, a fun WAD. Check it out. 4/5

BOOM: Shadow of the Zedix (boom-tc2.wad) Lari Muuriaisniemi
July 14, 2000
This is a weird TC. The wall and flat textures are pretty good, but the sprites are slightly higher than average MS Paint graphics . . . which makes me think the good ones were stolen. It's very hacky, some sprites show up in the wrong places, etc. Level design sucks. Pass. 2/5

Boom (Boom2_3.wad)
Shawn Prest April 24, 1996
Shitty texturing, shitty new textures, stupid sounds, shitty action, and absolutely bottom-of-the-barrel level design. Ugh. 1/5

Baron on a Pedestal (BoP.wad)
Andrew Murphy May 10, 1994
This is a smallish-medium sized level. Its somewhat off-grid. Texturing is random and crappy and mainly E1 themed. Action is alright. Theres a bit too much backtracking as well. Despite all this I still had some fun and hey, theres cool stairs, so: 3/5

This is a smallish-medium sized level. Design is somewhat crappy, texturing is random, action is kinda crappy too. 2/5

BRETT2  Version 1.1 --> Brett's Hell (Bret2Awe.wad)
Brett Russel November 11, 1994
This ZIP comes with two WADs, the main file and an additional music file, and I have to say, I knew I was screwed from the moment I started listening to them. Its absolutely the most retarded, inappropriate, eclectic mix of SHIT I have ever listened to. Highlights include 90s grunge songs (Smells Like Teen Spirit and Black Hole Sun), an organ song that sounds like it was arranged by my eight year-old nephew, what I swear has to be a Disney piano medley, and a whole bunch of songs that sound like they were made by a Teletubby. [In a twist of irony, I saw Chris Cornell in concert the day I played this, and "Black Hole Sun" was the last song he and his band did.]The levels were exactly what I expected: large, sprawling, random textures, mediocre action, no architecture . . . E2M4 is kinda E1-style, if you really get your kicks from that stuff. 2/5

Barons o' fun (BrnSoFun.wa
d) Espi June 30, 2000 10:44
There's four Barons, and a room full of barrels. The idea is to get one Baron to blow up a barrel while another Baron is standing next to it, and then they'll infight. Rinse, repeat, until you have one left, then blow up the remaining barrels while he's next to them. If this sounds like your cup of tea, go for it, but I found it none too exciting. Texturing is CEMENT and that pentagon floor texture, I think, should you care

Blood, Sweat, & more Blood (BSB.wa
d) Steve Johnston December 30, 1995
Okey, we have here four levels: First two are mainly GRAY with some outside areas that make it feel like a space station (due to the okay new sky), the third is a base level (somewhat random texturing), and the fourth with is a base level with outside courtyard and an ooze pool. Level design is sub-par for all of them. Action is alright. The new music included is electronica/rock. Some of it is waaayyyy to happy to ever be used in a Doom WAD, and all of it is pretty mediocre. No real reason to check this ou
