Welcome to Greenwood Film Society's world wide web page!
Greenwood's name comes from our founder's favorite anime, "Koko Wa Greenwood" or "Here is Greenwood," a hilarious OVA series about an incoming high school freshman, Hasukawa Kazuya, who unfortunately(?) moves into a dorm with some very eccentric characters...
We are located at the University of California, Riverside. Currently we are one of two clubs that showcases Japanese animation (anime) series and movies for the UCR community. Our showings are on a weekly basis during the regular academic year, and both UCR and non-UCR students are warmly encouraged to attend our meetings. There is no admission fee, as our purpose is primarily to spread our enjoyment and love for this unique form of entertainment to new and old fans alike! We also hope that those attending may gain some knowledge of and appreciation for the Japanese language and culture.
