RANDOM FACTS...

Song Facts:
The corner of Stuart and the Ave. is the corner of Stuart Street and Telegraph Avenue in Berkley, California
The Grouch" (on nimrod.) was originally titled "Happy Grouch".
When Green Day was recording songs for Insomniac, they were trying to think of an appropriate name for the song Stuck With Me. The band recorded the song now called "Do Da Da" around the same time, and that song was originally called "Stuck With Me", because those words actually appear in that song. But, there was a studio mix-up, and someone labeled the third track on Insomniac "Stuck With Me". When the band discovered the error, they felt the name was appropriate for the song and kept it. Later, they decided to release the real "Stuck With Me" as a b-side, so they gave it the nonsensical name "Do Da Da".
For the video for Jaded, because the lyrics are about being stoned and how you feel when you're stoned. Billie decided to get high while shooting the video just to get the feel for the song.
Haushinka" was originally written for Kerplunk, but at the time they didnt like the sound of it. So they excluded it from the album then when Nimrod came they decided to include it.
Longview was originally called "Same Old Shit Again (I'm Wasted)
Longview was originally different then the version of today. Tre improved the drums when they were touring
and the song was already recorded, so when they got back the song was recorded a second time
There isn't an official title for the Dookie hidden track "All By Myself"
"Misery" was insprired by the Tom Waits song Rain Dogs
The Song "J.A.R." wasn't supposed to be played on the radio
Billie Joe wrote the song "One For The Razorbacks" about a girl he met in Arkansas
During Green Day's first ever U.S. tour in 1990. It's well known that the University of Arkansas' team
nickname is the Razorbacks, so the song was called One For The Razorbacks

"At The Library" is about an ugly girl of which Billie Joe thought she might like him. She didn't.
Green Day usually invite someone onstage when they play "Knowledge"
The title "Sassafras Roots" was thought up by Mike because Green Day thought "Wasting Your Time"
would be a little too obvious for the song title. It's about wasting your time in a relationship.
"I Was There" is the only song written by their former drummer John.
"In the End" is about billie Joes mom's boyfriend that was a real jerk.
"F.O.D." stands for "Fuck Off And Die"
"Reject" is about an angry letter from a parent billie recieved.
Songs that reached #1---Off of Dookie - Longview, Basket Case and When I Come Around hit top spot, their next hit was J.A.R. off the Angus soundtrack and their last number one hit was Insomniac's Brain Stew/Jaded. Since then their highest has been Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) which was at number 2 for more than 15 weeks.
I Wanna Be Billie Joe is a single by Wat Tyler of Britain, featuring a pic of BJ wearing just pink boxers and a pink tie on the cover.
"Platypus" is about somebody Green Day really hated and died of cancer
