It usually seems like the whole island is dressed in Dolce & Gabbana and the rest of the best european designers. Fashion Victims? No problem! Weirdos? No problem! Just be yourself? Doesn't always work :-( To be on the safe side, if you can afford it that is, you must wear something that at least resembles high fashion. If you want to be among the best dressed, answering the what to wear question comes down to this: anything that just came out, or/and is not yet available in Greece (or even better in Europe) goes!

The island offers lots of boutiques (on the expensive side), and some really smart stores like the Army-Navy (hopefully it's still open) where you can find cheap but in-style gear. It's a must to own at least some of the cutting edge accessories, like J.P. Gaultier , or Alain Mikli sunglasses, Storm watches , etc., etc., to better fit in. Fit in means that you wont have a problem getting into most clubs, and feeling comfortable with the rest of the island polulation. Starting to get the picture? You can either go prepared, or buy what you need when you get there! The boutique I most liked most a few years back was Armonia that means harmony of course.

Usually the hippest stores are tuned in to hip radio stations from Athens like Klik FM, and Nitro radio that during the summer always broadcast info about upcoming events on the island, and you can listen to both live on the internet right now! So, check it out!

Most of the famous greek fashion designers do have summer houses in Mykonos. So dont be surprised if you're having dinner next to Nikos Apostolopoulos or Makis Tselios. And not only that, I have seen with my own eyes world famous fashion designers like Thierry Mugler, Alexander Mcqueen and Jean Paul Gaultier, hanging out in bars, clubs and cafes!!!

Now if you cannot afford to buy your clothes at the Channel boutique (not many can :-), you can get stuff at cheaper places like Custo and Energie stores.
