Above is how Chora looks from the plane! If you decide
to take the late boat to Mykonos, when you arrive Chora will look something like
the picture below. The moment you see this, the waiting is over! You're there!
Getting there though may be kind of tricky!

Still the best way to get to Mykonos is by ship from Pireaus Port. Usually, ships leave for Mykonos early in the morning, around 8am, and during high season they schedule some for the afternoon and night also. It takes around six hours to get there, but cruising the Aegean makes it all worth it!
A good way also is to take the Sea Jet from Rafina port. Sea jet takes only 2 and 1/2 hours, it costs twice as much, and it's much more comfortable, but getting to Rafina might be tricky if you don't know your way around!
Of course, there is allways the plane and Olympic Airways is your best bet (call 210.936.3363 to 5 for info). There is also Aegean Airlines and a couple other airlines. Try this site for cheap tickets: AirTickets GR.
Unless you have a lot of free time to spend planning this trip, it's better if you give all the parameters to a professional and let him/her take care of business! Many suggest Anemos Tours.
Now, if you want to plan things yourself here is a list of hotels in Chora
Some say that one of the best
hotels on the whole island is Santa
Marina.
Mykonos Blu
(part of the Grecotel chain) is in the same category ... and way too expensive.
In the nineties usually most pleople were staying in Chora, or very close to it in order to be closer to the action. The past few years, people usually stay closer to the beaches.
