| The Granville Rescue Squad was established in 1967. Located on Potter Avenue in the Village of Granville, the volunteers responded to the needs of the growing communities of Granville, North Granville, Middle Granville, Pawlet, West Pawlet, Rupert, Hebron, and Wells. In 1985, a new building was built by the Morton Building Company. This housed three Basic Life Support ambulances. The squad became Certified by New York State in the mid 1990s, and stayed certified in Vermont State. In 1997, the squad started a revenue recovery service through the Certified Ambulance Group. In 1998, we purchased another ambulance, Increasing the fleet to four. In 2000, the squad bought the equipment to become a certified Advanced Life Support Squad. In 2000, a paid staff was hired to cover day time calls from 0600 hours to 1600 hours during the weekdays. In late 2000 to early 2001, we started another building project to adequately house all four ambulances. This was also completed by the Morton Building Company. Also in 2001, the insurance billing company was changed to MultiMed. A 2002 project was providing all the surrounding fire department with the equipment and training to assist on cardiac arrest calls in their districts. In 2003, the paid crew was extended and a third person was hired to make coverage 0400 hours to 1800 hours. Granville Rescue continues to grow and provide better coverage to its primary and surrounding area. | |||||||||||||
