What is TRIO?
In the 1964 Economic Opportunities Act created
the Upward Bound program. A year later, Upward Bound was joined
by two other special programs for students from disadvantaged backgrounds:
Talent Search and Student Support Services. In 1965, under authorization
of Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, the three programs
