Student Support Services (SSS)

We support low-income, first generation college students and students with disabilities in the pursuit of their Bachelor Degree. We serve 200 students per year by providing a variety of services designed to help you succeed at Chemeketa and prepare you to transfer to the 4-year college or university of your choice.


What services do we provide?
The Student Support Services Program provides you a variety of educational opportunities, as well as cultural and career activities such as:

  • Development of personalized College Success Plan with each participant
  • Campus visits to 4-year universities
  • Tuition-free classes: Study Skills, Orientation to College, and 4-year Transition
  • Mentoring provided by certified college students
  • Scholarship and financial aid application assistance
  • A Resource Center for career exploration, a study area, and computer and internet access
  • Academic, career, and personal advising
  • Check out textbooks for free
  • Supplemental instruction in math and science courses


Who is eligible to participate?

  • Students who meet federal low-income requirements
  • Students who are first-generation college students
  • Students with documented disabilities
