onto the playing field during a crucial professional football game between the Eagles and Giants. Co-protagonist Ness Jour, a front-office executive with the Giants organization, must choose between her heart and
career as she watches security personnel surround Richard, her recently estranged love interest. As he is dragged away in front of a national TV audience, Richard consoles himself that he could not have foreseen
the upheaval awaiting him when first contacted by the high-flying Ness. Six months earlier, Ness - hounded by creditors - seeks help for an extravagant lifestyle that even her six-figure income cannot support.
Sensing a chance to make some easy money, Richard convinces Ness to give him power of attorney over her finances and puts her on the "austerity plan". It is an alliance that seems destined to fail. Examining the
