Nightmares and Daydreams
Ripples Of Imperfection
In my hours of darkness,
During the times of trial,
I leaned over the pool
and saw her looking at me.

I blinked; she blinked.
I cocked my head; she followed the same.
I had never seen her before.
Forever Forgotten she was.
Always in the background,
waiting...
hoping...
seaching.
Wanting
to be noticed.
But until the darkness overcame me,
she had remained hidden.

Though she never spoke,
I could hear her.
I began to realize
how much I had missed.

During the darkness,
I spent much time with her.
I admired her.
She was beautiful.
Her radiance lit the sky
like fireworks.

Then the darkness
began to lift.
I could see the light.
I was ready
and I wanted the world
to know the person I had met.

I reached out my arms
and took hold of the light.
The tears welled in my eyes.
As much as I tried to hold them back...
one single happy tear fell.
I leaned over the pool to introduce her...
but it was then that my happiness faded.
For she was gone,
And all that remained
were ripples of imperfection.
