Hate groups, racist, or bigots are not welcome here!
Welcome!
You have discovered the web pages of The Goodson Rifles.  We'll figure that you are here because you are interested in "the late unpleasantness" between the states, you are interested in history, or you want to cause trouble.  We'll tell you right up front, any hate group, racist, or bigot for any segment of the society of The United States is not welcome on this site.  We don't want you here!  Okay, that said and done, everyone else is welcome.  So, let me tell you a little about The Goodson Rifles.   We are a Civil War Reenactment Organization based in southwestern Virginia.  We are members of a National Reenactment Organization, 3rd Regiment, ANV.  We have members from Florida to New York and even a few out  in Oregon.  The Goodson Rifles are a progressive, family oriented organization.

Like any other club or organization we have rules.  The Goodson Rifles, also, have strict authenticity standards.  The initial cost of reenacting is expensive, but, after that, it is minimal.  We want you to see us in action.  So, be sure and drop by our photo gallery.  The original 37th Virginia had a long and honorable history during the "War Between the States" and we proudly portray them.  The original Goodson Rifles took their name from the town of Goodson, Virginia, now Bristol, Virginia.  Our ladies organization is The Ladies of the Martha Washington. The LMW is a very active Living History group and we are happy to have them with us.
The 37th is interested in what you have to say,so, we have provided a guestbook for just that purpose.  Not everything everyone writes in it will be posted because we review it before we post the messages.  If you think you can be a wise guy, forget it!  If you would just rather E-mail us, we have provided you with an address.  Take our Civil War Quiz that you'll find in the questbook.  The 37th Virginia has a special Dedication Page that you really should see.  These pages are dedicated to two very special people.  Okay, if you are still not sure who we are and what we are about, check out the Reenactors' Creed.  Once you have reviewed the site, you just might want to request an application from our Membership Committee.  Alright guys and gals, that's right, women can play soldier too, come on in.  There's plenty of sow belly and hardtack for everyone!
