I started writing long ago when I was in elementary school. I always wrote stories and kept journals. The things I write aren't always great or noble in thought but it is what I am feeling at that time.

These writers influenced me. Taught me about their worlds and how they saw it.
Self education is a great way to make your self stronger. Without a strong mind, your body has nothing to follow. No path to guide you. Reading is a good way to pass the time you may have.
The television is poison. It poisons your mind and destroys your spirit. The writers of TV shows think you are dumb and write shows accordingly. Often time people chose to follow the TV into submission. They buy the clothes they are told to and drink the soft drinks that are advertised.
MTV has become a spokesman for Generation X. Teaching our children to basically become follows. Mind control for the weak. Pushing America into its fat and lazy fast food induced coma.
Illiteracy in this country is on the rise. The average first grader can not read and a functional level. This is alarming and sad.
One of the greatest gifts my parents ever gave me was to teach me to read. My mother did her job and taught me to read at a young age. By kindergarten I already could read books. I think she did this to give me something to do and keep me quiet but however it was a great gift.
Later on in school a teacher chose to say I was sub-par in reading at a forth grade reading level. So here we go down to the Social Worker and school shrink who tested me and tested me. And they found I read just fine and that I had good comprehension skills. I was just bored of Jane and Ted go to the Zoo.
Through-out my Military career I read books. I was a knowledge junkie. It was a great way to kill the monotony of long deployments. I also wrote constantly. Keeping accounts of things I felt and experienced. I filled notebook after notebook.
So I decided this might be a good way to expose some of my writing.
