Stan Senior's Comments

I thought we started off well but things got worse as the match went on. Players began to play out of position. They didn't play as a team any more and therefore it's fair to say that we did not deserve to win. We were showing promise in the first 30 minutes of the game but we need to carry that through to the end of the match which we just failed to do. Players need to have more shots on goal, be it from 30 yards, rather than trying to walk the ball into the net. The midfield must start to help out the defence more but the defence must also tighten up a bit beacause I thought that they were straying forward and leaving gaps for the opposition. The captain should establish a certain amount of defenders to stay back all the time.
I am looking forward to the home match against Denaby. It will be a very physical encounter, we learned that last year when we played them away. We have something of a point to prove. I know we can do it. But the players must believe in themselves also. Go out and do yourselves proud!"
