History of Soccer
Have you ever wondered how the game of soccer got started?
    Soccer may have started in Greece, Rome, and China 2000 years ago. In about 1300, some farm boys started playing in England. Soccer wasn't the same then and they didn't have very many rules. More people wanted to play. Pretty soon people started playing in the town streets. There might be 500 people playing! Everybody was fighting and lots of people got hurt so they had a meeting in one of the towns. At the meeting they made up rules for the soccer game. These are almost the same rules that we have now.
Monthly Math Challenge Hint:

I = 1, V = 5, X = 10, L = 50, C = 100, D = 500, M = 1,000
