On August 27th, Jim and Linda began a month-long tour on our bikes from Seattle to San Diego. Averaging about 60 miles per day, the trip covered 1766.5 miles. We were self-contained on the trip, as each of us carried our clothes, tent, sleeping bag, and cooking equipment on our bikes. This was probably a once in a life time adventure.One of the challenges in planning for this trip was to come up with a variety of meals to eat so that we wouldn't get tired of the same thing every night. All the meals were cooked on a one burner MSR stove. We had 2 cooking pots, but usually used just one.
While planning for this trip we developed a checklist so that we wouldn't forget anything.
